COMPLETE The Christmas Book by Hezekiah Butterworth - ck
Section 13 - The Pilgrim's Easter Lily

Listener: please check the area around 11:36. The weblink that I opened ended text on page 112 with "There is a stream whose peaceful flow supplies God's city fair" and the next visible page was 115 and started with "The door stood partly open letting in the sunlight." I think page 113 was only a picture, but am I missing text from page 114?
Thanks,
Lauren

I checked the University of Florida digital library version and it has a picture on page 113 and a blank page for page 114.

Notes on Section 1:
15:20 Text has “Comfort ye." Did an angel speak? The instruments are sweeter now: “Comfort ye my people." Did that voice come from the air? Dot listens and wonders if this is earth: “Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God, saith your God" The reading omits all of this.
16:47 A similar omission. Text has "are with young, and gently lead, and gently lead those that are with young."
17:42 There is a section of text that begins "He shall feed..." that is not in the text that I am using. I am using the one listed at the beginning of the first page (https://archive.org/details/christmasbook00butt). Am I not using the correct text?
Everything about the recording was very good. And a very good story.

Thank you for the proof listening. Yes, for some reason I did miss the text you reference at 15:20. I have recorded it and inserted it into the file.
The other two references pertain to the song that is found on Page 25 of the source text. Where I inserted the song may seem a bit out of order because I had to pick a place in the chapter where I felt it fit best. There were not any directions that I could see stating exactly where to put it. I understand that following along with the text it does not necessarily appear to fit where I put it. That is because it is a song that was on a stand- alone page. However, given the dialogue and action that took place around it I used my best judgement and put it where I felt best.
Here is the corrected Chapter One:
https://librivox.org/uploads/carolin/christmasbook_01_butterworth_128kb.mp3
New run time is 21:22
If, after reading my explanation and listening to the corrections you still feel that it is incorrect I will ask Carolin to weigh in on this as I do not know what else I can do.
Thanks again, Lomond, for your good work!
Greg

Carolin,
I have sent a PM to both you and Lomond explaining the dilemma we are in regarding some verbiage in the first chapter. Please review the message, the posts between Lomond and I, and offer your guidance.
Thank you!
Greg
Greetings -
Section 7 has been added to the list of PL OK efforts and to the list of good Christmas stories.
I did notice that the second half of the recording was at a noticeably higher audio level, but not enough of a difference to cause any problems listening to "Good Luck".
