Thanks, Brad. Glad to know that your knowledge of Greek mythology is informing your performance! :D

Here is Achilles in his entirety. I strained my vocal chords a little to make him a bit Liam Neeson-ish, highlighting his stubbornness and moodiness. But I was also able to soften his voice for the more vulnerable moments. I'm not sure if it's custom to make him insane with grief and vengeance after Patroclus dies, but that's what I do, because why not? :P If Patroclus was that close to him, I don't think his sanity would be left completely intact.

no problem, there's no rush. I have edited the scene together, so whenever your line comes it, it'll take me a minute to get it finalized. I hope the things that tie you up are at least enjoyable ones. :)

Brad and Tomas, I'll try to PL your sections later.

I won't be working on this project or my Dickens project today because first I'm going to a friend's barbecue party--and then to an outdoor production of "Othello." :D

aha, already preparing for one of our next productions

I haven't started PLing yet, because I spent the entire afternoon sorting out my holiday pictures. But that's done now, so now I can do this.

Hamlet wrote: August 18th, 2018, 2:21 pmHere is my first Agamemnon scene. I thought I'd better get an opinion of the voice. I see him as a leader who is weary of the whole thing and just wants to go home. But he also has to consider that it is a matter of honor--his duty as commander and king and the fact that Helen is his sister-in-law so it's a matter of family honor as well. And there is also the fact (although it's not mentioned in the play) that he had to sacrifice his daughter just to get a fair wind to get all his ships to Troy in the first place. (Yes, I have an interest in Greek mythology as well! lol)
LOL yes I was devouring those Greek mythology stories as a kid too.

Agamemnon is a good characterization I find. You do sound dignified from the outset with this long speech, and yes, there is a touch of weariness in it as well. I like it very much. Also, nothing missing, so PL ok.

yes I think it was well known that Achilles lost his senses and his temper quite a bit when Patroclus died. I mean, his vengeance is quite psychotic in the end, and to trail his victim around the walls of Troy is unnecessary cruel gloating.

Your foaming-at-the-mouth scenes at the end are quite an event, Tomas  And yes, I could picture Liam Neeson in this role, although, he is slightly too old for that now.

Excellent job. I loved the raspy voice, but I hope the dialogue that Achilles has with my equally raspy Aeneas won't sound too comedic LOL two hoarse men croaking at each other

All scenes PL ok, just one short note for 5.1.

Oops, you're right, Sonia. That was my mistake. I've re-recorded the line and re-uploaded for spot PL.

Okay, this has nothing to do with our project but...

I'm back from "Othello," and they knocked it out of the park! (Well, not literally, since they were actually performing it in a park).

I'm glad it was a good performance. I have seen Othello open air too, every year they stage a Shakespeare in one of our many picturesque castle ruins. I saw a few of them already played there.

Here's a picture of the setting when they played Merchant of Venice a few years ago: https://mc.gouvernement.lu/de/actualites.gouvernement%2Bfr%2Bactualites%2Btoutes_actualites%2Barticles%2B2015%2B06-juin%2B30-nagel-shakespeare.html

Hamlet wrote: August 21st, 2018, 10:10 am Here is the rest of Agamemnon
wonderfully done, Brad. Agamemnon is really the stern leader he should be. But the longer speech in 5.5. where full of despair he reports the casualties of the battle was really well done, a definite highlight of the play. The whole horror of war has been put into these lines.

On a funnier note, I really loved the small exclamation "What’s his excuse?" in 2.3. He sounds so resigned there

All scenes PL ok, apart from 5.9.

PL Note for 5.9.

> at 0:09: please add missing lines:
"March patiently along. Let one be sent
To pray Achilles see us at our tent.
If in his death the gods have us befriended;
Great Troy is ours, and our sharp wars are ended."

thanks !
