I made attempt to use some of native Hawaiians' speech patterns throughout this story and tried very hard to correctly pronounce place names according to extraordinary resources available on the internet, but am not sure I did any sort of justice to either.
Please let me know if there is some glaringly awful mispronuncation; I do not wish to be disrespectful to the lovely persons of The Islands.

And as always, thank you for your dedication and tremendous help, Carolin!

Hello,

Can the reader mention the date when he/she recorded the recording in the intro? If that's no problem, then section 17 is PL OK. Nice reading!

Thank you, bhavya; I'm glad you enjoyed it!

I've heard other readers list the date, but we can wait for official word. :)

Hi,

I'm interested in taking on Section 21 but I'm wondering, how will I know how to pronounce all the names? I want to be as accurate as possible.

Also, how do I do the chants?

-Voxandis
:D I'm looking for feedback on my recordings, especially on storytelling and character voices (but any feedback is welcome, I'm here to learn!). My recent contributions:

Fairytale: Tufty Riquet

Play: The Dream, role of Wovelreid: Act II, III

Voxandis,
I'm not sure of any LV policies related to sharing outside links, so admins, please feel free to delete this and let me know if it's inappropriate to share in this way, but ...

I found a *terrific* websource to help with pronunciation and learning a bit more about the culture of Hawaiians.
http://wehewehe.org/?l=en is the link to the dictionary.
The main site: http://ulukau.org/index.php?l=en
may have an article specifically on chanting or you may wish to check youtube for videos of them in live performance!
I think that would be neat to research.

I hope this is helpful and interesting to you. *Smile*
