I think you are off to a really good start.
There are just a couple of technical issues to take care of
First, the volume is too low. Our target is 89 dB with a range of 86-92 dB. Yours comes in at just 84.1 dB
If you are using Audacity, just use the amplification feature and set it to + 5 dB.
Second, both your opening and closing silences are too long. At the beginning there should be no more than ONE second (yours is over two seconds), and the ending silence should be about 5 seconds (yours is over 7).
Finally, although we normally don't comment on pronunciation as part of our standard proof listening, I will in this case since it is a big part of the book, and that is the word, "treatise" What I am hearing sounds like, "treaties" which is a different word -- plural of "treaty." I'd prefer to keep it somewhat standard as given at this web site: https://dictionary.cambridge.org/us/pronunciation/english/treatise
Something to keep in mind for future recordings.
I will assign sections 6 and 7 to you, as requested.
Just upload your corrected file under the same name and post the link an new file length here.
These little tech things will soon become second nature to you.
I'm really looking forward to hearing much more from you.

There are two programs that I use to check volume, since Audacity doesn't directly give a read out in dB.
The firs it Checker, a small program that was written specifically for LV. Drag a file into it, and it checks not only volume, but other LV pecs. Your can find it here: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Checker
I use Checker mainly when I proof listen. To check the files in Audacity before I export, I use an Audacity plug-in called ReplayGain. Once it is installed, it is simple to run it from the Analyze menu, and you get a read-out indicating how many dBs to amplify, either up or down. Then use the Amplify feature in Audacity to do that. Here is a link to this handy tool: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=Measuring_Volume_within_Audacity
Hope these help.
Looking forward to your next recording.

I've put these in the MW Ready for PL. I hope our DPL will solve the computer issues and be along shortly. If not I'll listen when I get a chance.Caspian wrote: ↑May 28th, 2018, 9:45 pm Section 2:https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/goodworks_02_luther_128kb.mp3
