Can you recommend a word pronunciation app as I have had some trouble with my saying of words that I can't read

Since I don't use my phone to check pronunciation, I can't recommend an app, sorry. All of my recording I do at my home computer and it is connected to Internet, so I use web sites for checking pronunciations.

For English words I use howjsay.com, to understand the meaning, use, I search on google (which often suggests the meaning and also finds dictionary sites), and for place names, if I can't find their pronunciation on Wikipedia, I usually search on Youtube for videos of locals speaking of the place.

If it's a phrase in another language than English (French or German, for instance), I use translate.google.com because it has a (computer generated) way of saying the phrase.

If no one has yet claimed it, I'd like to do #9, John Dunmore Lang.
