I have a problem with popping Ps, no matter how much I try to edit out or reduce the Ps using audacity effect and equalization programs, I cannot get ride of this sound very well. Does it matter if there is the sound of popping Ps in recording when sent to MC. If it does can you please tell me how to rid myself of this problem.
Two suggestions.
1. Post your inquiry to "Need Help?" forum.
2. Provide a short recording that will serve to illustrate what you are asking about. Use "xx-nonproject" as 'MC' when uploading.

Hi nighthawks, there are two thinks that will work against plosives.
1. Move your microphone so that your breath does not hit the mic directly. This works best if you are using a headset, adjust the mic to place it higher than your mouth and a little to the side.
2. Get a pop filter. This works best if you have a desktop mic. Youcan purchase one as they arent expensive, or you can make one yourself using a loop of wire and a stocking.
Let us know if this helps

I saw a reply from Tovarisch about Popping Ps. This is a recording containing Popping Ps, is this an acceptable level for passing the PL.

It sounds to me that your mouth is right on the microphone. Is it a headset? If it is and the mic arm can swivel a bit, try to move it just above the tip of your nose (yes, I know, it's going to be in your field of vision).
If it isn't a headset, could you try to move a bit away from the mic to avoid "eating it". You're breathing into the mic capsule, and that's what makes your recording so poppy. Move the mic to the side, while still pointing the capsule at your mouth, but speak past it. "Point the mic at your mouth but not the mouth at your mic". You will need to adjust the input level a bit, probably.

Sorry to be a pain Carolin, but in The Mentor 2 : Number 6: Holland, there are blank pages, and then it starts with the word Netherlands then a full stop. Has something been deleted or is this correct.
Hiya, i dont know anything about that project. Could you please post your question over in that thread? Thank you
