Just finished my reading of Nemesis, ch. 22. The prose reads beautifully! I have heard of Bacon but never read anything by him. I now understand the speculation that he wrote Shakespeare's plays. May I claim Ch. 30, 31, and 32?

Here is Ch. 22, Nemesis. It's my first real recording so please let me know if any of the editing needs tweaking. Cheers! Allie. https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/wisdomoftheancients_22_bacon_128kb.mp3

Hi Allie :D

Your voice sounds good. David C will listen and let you know how you did.

One thing though - you called it chapter 22 and named the file
https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/wisdomoftheancients_22_bacon_128kb.mp3

Can you change the file name and opening and closing of the reading to reflect chapter 23? Use the Magic Window to determine the section part.

https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/wisdomoftheancients_23_bacon_128kb.mp3

correct those and reload the file and we can add it to the window and listen.
Thanks
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Hi Craig, oh sheesh! You're right! Sadly, I won't be able to fix that for a while as I don't currently own my own mike. Will probably be able to fix next weekend. Yes, I will re record the opening and ending to reflect the correct title name.

The book is filling up fast because it is a really good one. Francis Bacon was quite the poet. Which I already knew but now can say from reading his work personally.

Next weekend will be fine. Francis Bacon influenced many people over the years. I'm glad you enjoy learning about him first hand.

Since I see this, I've renamed the files.

Section 22, which is chapter 21 and is already PL OK in the MW, is back to https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/wisdomoftheancients_22_bacon_128kb.mp3

Section 23, which is chapter 21 and was overwriting the old file, is now https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/wisdomoftheancients_22_bacon_128kb_really_23.mp3 8-)

Craig - you can use this link in the MW. DavePL can listen to it or wait until the intro/outro are fixed. :)

Hi Allie :D

I fixed your link so it reads
https://librivox.org/uploads/triciag/wisdomoftheancients_23_bacon_128kb.mp3

This is the format that links for this project must take.

The Magic Window is where you will find the section number for the reading. The text runs one section behind the Magic Window so I've decided that reading the chapter numbers will confuse the listener. So we should read:

Section [number] of The Wisdom of the Ancients This is a LibriVox recording. All LibriVox recordings are in the public domain. For more information, or to volunteer, please visit: librivox DOT org"
If you wish, say: "Recording by [your name], [city, your blog, podcast, web address]"
Say:
"The Wisdom of the Ancients, A Series Of Mythological Fables, by Francis Bacon. [Section Title] i.e., Cassandra, Or Divination"

Craig

I think you're doing great Allie

Section 23 is PL ok except for the notes in the Magic Window.

Thanks Aimee

Nicely read, you read nice and slowly for the listener and did a very good job on pronunciation :D

Almost done with Section 30, Prosperine :) Just needs editing. Can I take the last two, 24 and 26? In love with reading this book. Reads very much like Shakespeare.

Yes you can have sections 24 and 26 Allie. Maybe Shakespeare wrote for Bacon :?:
And yes I was confused - too many names for everyone here.
Glad you love reading Bacon
