If they're good, that will be it for me until Volume 3. :D
thank you Tomas, the Children's crusade was read with so much emotion, my eyes watered a bit while listening. :( Beautiful poem about a very tragic part of history.

Luckily the Poe story was quite funny on the other hand  Those young princes seem to be up for mischief all the time. Just this morning I listened to the other two stories by the same author. He seems to have been a teacher at their court.

Section 113 is already PL ok.

one PL note for 72:

> at 7:40: (p. 397): missing part of sentence: “That is one reason, monsieur

thanks ! And I definitely hope to count on your for Volume III :9:

great achievement for your April challenge, Jo  I loved listening to your quiet narrative voice :9: And these short sections are always a pleasure to listen to. Bitesize knowledge - love it ! I had to laugh when I heard that the clothes were more Renaissance period and not at all from the time of Alexander the Great. That's the first thing I thought when I had a look at the painting before I listened to your section.

Almost flawless run-through. Sections 67, 71, 78 and 98 are PL ok.

Only one tiny note for 89:

> at 0:12: could you also please insert the page number “an Assyrian bas-relief, p. 474

thank you, mission wonderfully accomplished. I hope you were happy with your challenge.

third time's the charm :9: thank you, Jim, Jessie's dream (which seemed a nightmare to get right  ) is finally PL ok.

One more section finished. Today has been quite prolific in this project. Thank you all !

for Section 73:

> 92.5 dB - please decrease volume by 3 dB
> concerning the end-silence. We usually require a standard of 5 seconds of silence at the end. You come close to 7 seconds, so if you wouldn't mind, you could also trim a bit there at the end

for Section 74:

> 93.1 dB - please decrease volume by 3 dB

I will fix these tonight. Thank you for your support and kind words. :D

I will claim those last 4 sections (21,30,32,35) if no one else has.

And this is mine: https://librivox.org/uploads/kitty/worldstory_volume02_072_tappan_128kb.mp3 (13:06)

Regarding the DR, I must've amplified the file to better hear the volume discrepancies and forgot to apply Replay Gain before exporting. :| I promise I am not always this forgetful LOL. This is my second week at the new work, and the fatigue after coming home continues to wreak havoc, it seems.

don't worry about it, Tomas :) I am sorry though, that the work is tiring you out. Well, I hope you can recuperate a bit over the weekend. As for this section, it's nicely patched and PL ok as well.

Thanks

Second try....

https://librivox.org/uploads/kitty/worldstory_volume02_073_tappan_128kb.mp3 8:36 (89.1 dB and cut end to 5 seconds silence)

https://librivox.org/uploads/kitty/worldstory_volume02_074_tappan_128kb.mp3 8:41 (89.7 dB)

I found the Checker program so I can check the files for dB level before I upload them. :)

thank you Kevin, yes these two are now totally PL ok.

Yes Checker is a great tool to check your technical specs beforehand. And if you want another great plug-in for Audacity to assess by how much you need to amplify before you even export to mp3, I can recommend ReplayGain. It saves you the time to export, check with checker and reopen the file in audacity to amplify and export once again.
Replay Gain plugin for Audacity: - http://forum.audacityteam.org/download/file.php?id=4668

1. Save the file to your computer - your desktop or somewhere where you can easily find it.
2. Now browse to the folder in which Audacity is installed. It's probably in C:\Program Files\Audacity) and then open the Plug-Ins folder.
3. Drag the file you saved into the Plug-Ins folder.
4. When next you start up Audacity, you will be able to select the whole recording (Ctrl+A on Windows), then go to Analyze | ReplayGain, and it'll tell you how much to amplify your file to get to about 89 dB.
:)
