Hi Daniel -

I PL'd your recording tonight - you have a wonderful voice and your reading was very good!

A couple of comments -

The recording needs to start between .5 and 1 second and at the end there needs to be 5 seconds of silence. Currently the recording starts after the 1st second and does not have 5 seconds of silence at the end.

Do you know about the Checker Utility? I ran your recording (I run all recordings I listen to through it) and it is at 85.8 dB which is just below the minimum standard. Our goal is to get recordings to 89db. You will need to use Amplify to raise your recording up a bit so that it will get a Passed status in the Checker.

The following was missed in the recording -

3:34 – Missing “This by the way!”

Lastly, while this is personal preference, there were longer pauses in the beginning of your recording than I have heard in other people's work. Perhaps take some of the pauses/dead air out at the beginning / introduction - I generally leave about a second of silence between reading the Section number 20 of..... 1 second This is a Librivox Recording.... 1 second Recording by Lynda ..... 1 second Authors name and title.

So if you can make those few changes and then upload it again with the time that you find in the Checker that will be awesome!

WAY better reading on this version!

A couple of things that need to be fixed -

First, your recording is just below the level of dB's needed - please use Audacity (or your recording program) to increase the sound to closer to 89dB.
Also, at 5:55 – If one cultivates is repeated
Those are the two things that need to be done and then the recording can be re-submitted for a check.

Please remember to aim for 5 seconds of silence at the end of your recording after you say your name. You are on the short end at 3 seconds

Other than that the mic worked very well this time!

Sorry I did not get an email re your post. I am not sure how to increase the dB level but I will PM you if I can't. I can easily make the other changes.
