Sonia, if you'd like me to hold off on assembling Act 2 for the moment, let me know. Maybe you'd rather be caught up with your backlog first. I can wait until tomorrow, or even later if need be.

Thank you, Brad! May I offer you one of the two remaining scenes? We're incredibly close now to being finished. :D

I finally managed to start here:
Craigos wrote: March 17th, 2018, 9:30 am https://librivox.org/uploads/kitty/kinglear_2_4.mp3 20:14

At around 18:15 there is a comment ["Storm and Tempest"]. I originally took this as a comment on the mood of Lear  , but I think it is a reference to the storm outside the building.
 yes indeed, there we could use a bit of Brad's storm. But Lear's mood is quite accurate here too. With those two daughters, no wonder he gets into such a rage.

2.4. is PL ok, I only deleted a few longer gaps which I thought were too long. Also, I erased "Act 2" at the beginning.

here is the new file:

Recording time: 20:06 min.

Tomas, Act 2 is ready to be assembled now, and then I do a final PL.

Thanks Sonia, that makes sense.
I did cut out another reference to the singing fool, as agin it was really clear in the dialogue.
yep, excellent editing. Lear and the Fool sound extremely cold and shivering in some part.
I only removed the surplus "Act 3" at the beginning, the rest I did not touch. PL ok.

excellent too. Tom made me nervous  I still can't believe that is me doing this.

Apart from cutting out "Act 3" again, nothing is changed. Well done, Craig. PL ok

great Brad, thank you. The pacings are excellent this time. I only put back "Act 4" before "Scene 1" because with the first scene we actually repeated the Act. Well at least we did in the first and fifth Act and I wanted to keep it consistent.

Something else, concerning Edgar:

> at 3:34:
EDGAR. [Aside.] How should this be?
Bad is the trade that must play fool to sorrow,
Angering itself and others. Bless thee, master!
Listening to this, I am thinking now that maybe only the first line was the aside. :hmm: And the other two lines should have been done with Poor Tom’s voice. What do you guys think ? I could still redo the sentence. Or maybe only the “Bless thee master” part. It makes more sense that Tom spoke at least this to Gloucester, so the old man could hear him and ask his following question.

I'll mark it for PL notes for the time being.

great news, all ! I spent the last hour listening to the entire Act 1 and it's a beauty :9: Perfect start into the play. We all sound great and distinct enough to not raise confusion over who is who.
I think my only potential concern is the volume of Kent's speeches in 1.4.
yes some of Brad's files were a bit too loud in the beginning, but that has been resolved later on. I already reduced some volumes where I thought it would sound odd. I didn't notice too much difference in sound here. I listened with earphones and at no time did it really hurt to listen to some spikes.

All's well. Act 1 PL ok.

Now I definitely need a rest *collapses*. But the backlog has been worked off.

Sonia, regarding 4.1, I think only "Bless thee, master" would be said aloud, and everything before it included as an aside. Is that how you recorded it, or was everything spoken as an aside?

yes I spoke it all as Aside. Just as I thought, some part must have been said aloud. I'll redo that line with a more tom-ish voice

thanks for the input !

all right, Tomas, 4.1. is re-uploaded. I only re-spoke the last sentence "Bless thee father". The rest stays the same. I struggled a bit to get back into Poor Tom mode :? Hope it's ok.

Ready for Spot PL.

4.1 is spot PL OK. :) You got back into Edgar mode without missing a beat, Sonia. :9:

I shall now begin assembling Act 2... which is the only act I can do right now, since the others have unedited scenes.
