Hi Linny,

I came across the very useful website https://forvo.com/ which calls itself 'the pronunciation dictionary'. It's certainly accurate for words in languages I'm already familiar with, so I'm happy to trust it when I'm not so sure.

Highly recommended.

Hello Linny,

I would like to read section 24 ( the merry wives of windsor by Nicolai )
i have actually recorded this chapter earlier this evening, and am starting the editing process.

Please don't feel like you have to award me this chapter because i have done this, i frequently record just for practice.

but if i am to submit, i would like some guidance as to how you would like the extended poetic section on page 235 delt with. I haven't heard MWoW in years and assume that this is an aria for young mistress anne. i just improvised a kind of melody NOT NICOLAI's. should i submit this OR just READ the text as poetry.

I've assigned you section 24. Either way you want to submit 235 is fine (with or without melody) as long as you haven't included music.

In the future please ensure you have been assigned a section before you record. With the threads, sometimes we get behind and two people end up claiming the same section.

Hello Delmar,
I have the following PL notes for you. The reading itself was great and other than the intro it’s all technical stuff.

0:22 – missing part of section title
WAGNER – Tannhauser

The volume on your intro is low. Please increase the volume here.

Starting at 9:55 the volume drops off significantly. Please balance. I had to adjust my volume back and forth to hear you.

Please check your ending silence. There is a mouse click in there which when you increase the volume for the end of your recording will become a bit too loud to be consider silence.

Your bit rate needs to be 128kb.

The recording needs to be a constant rate, rather than variable bit rate.

Wow! Great job. I sure hope you took a break along the way.

24:33 take a listen to the word “should”. I’m ok with marking it PL ok but wanted to check with you. I have no idea what that sound is.

Ending silence should be 5 seconds. Please trim. The rule for 10 seconds for 30+ minute recordings is no longer required.
