gbondy wrote: May 13th, 2018, 9:07 am I'm just looking for some advice. At the beginning of Chapter XX in http://www.gutenberg.org/files/3816/3816-h/3816-h.htm#link2HCH0020 there is a little [*] next to the chapter name and below is another [*] and a paragraph explaining the factual basis of the chapter. How should I introduce it when reading it?
Thank you for asking. We generally read those with footnote (text) end of footnote. So this would be
"Chapter 20. Footnote. (Text of footnote.) End of footnote. (Text chapter)"

Thanks!

Thank you!

How long is the recording? Please remember to always post the duration of a recording when you post a link so that i can update the magic window. Thank you!

Also, note that the file name should contain arabic numerals rather than roman. The file names will often sort alphabetically and that doesn't work with roman :) thank you!

Apologies! I've uploaded with a different file name if that's helpful. The recording is 00:38:28

May I claim XI?
An excellent reading for Chapter 10! I think there is just one repetition at 12:33 and 12:38, "But might you not feel that if you chanced to see some one whom you particularly disliked?”

I would also like to offer some feedback about plosives; that's when the breath hits the microphone and creates sound distortion. In your recording it's not so noticeable to be called a problem, but I'm mentioning it, in case it can be improved in future recording, for example by changing the angle between the mouth and the microphone, so that the air/breath does not hit the microphone directly. You can hear an example of a plosive "f" at around 18:50 "far from it"

I hadn't noticed your next claim, and maybe Carolin also missed it, but now that I saw it, Carolin will, too

So there is! My apologies! I have removed the repetition and reuploaded the recording:

Thank you very much for the feedback. I'm still fiddling a bit with the microphone angle, trying to find the best one. I'll keep this in mind!

Thanks again
