Hello Carolin, could I please pick up Hoodooed? I briefly read over it because I was curious about the (language) notation, not going to change my mind, but just curious about what that refers to.

I love to read, AND my employer matches my volunteer hours with a donation to the Internet Archive, flagged to benefit Librivox.org. How cool is that?

May I also claim Section 2, A Darling Of Misfortune?

Thanks!

PL OK!

What on Earth was that ending? What moral are we supposed to get from this? People should respect the elderly?

Also, sorry to take over your duties, Carolin, but while I'm updating the Magic Window, I might as well assign that section to you as well.

Thanks, Jordan! I agree, the ending of that story didn't make sense. At first I thought the story was about Miss Mink getting out of her comfort zone and finding some purpose and growing as a person, but the end seemed to imply that she had romantic notions about her soldier that were dashed by youth and beauty. She gave everything she had and went out of her way, but ultimately was defeated by riches and youth? Perhaps the moral is to not set your expectations too high?

Section 4, Hoodooed is ready and here. Time is 30:01.

While my family is from the south and I thought "no problem with this piece" I kind of found it to be a struggle. I hope it goes out into the world and does good now that I have done all I can with it.....unless you need me to edit it that is ;-D

Well, that was certainly... something.
"Dey's two kinds ob hoodoos," she said, "de libin' an' de daid. De daid ones is de easiest to lift, 'ca'se dey answers to charms; but nobody can lift a libin' hoodoo 'ceptin' de one dat laid hit on. I been a-steddyin' an' a-steddyin', an' de signs claim dat dis heah hoodoo ob yourn ain't no daid hoodoo."
I think some of those are actual words...

Thanks, Jordan. Just one story left? Okay, I'll claim section 3 - I do like to help finish projects.
