Carolin,

For my April Adventure, may I read your orphan dog story? That will be a new genre for me.

The recording is too loud overall - Checker shows an average volume of 93.3 dB. The LibriVox range is 86 to 92 dB, so if you reduce the level of the whole section by 4 dB you will be very close to the center of the range.

Also, the file name should have been dogheroes_02_ives_128kb.mp3 - you missed the zero in the section number.

And here's the good news: Everything with your reading/editing is just fine, so if you can change the audio level and upload the section again everything should be fine.

Three cheers for Zip, who ran 50 miles to get help.

I realize that it might be too loud. It is an issue that I am trying to remedy.

You're right, it is too loud; Checker shows the level as 92.4 (just out of the range). There are no fluffs in your reading, so all will be well if you reduce the volume by 3 or 3 1/2 dB and upload it again.

When I zoom way in on your recording I can see some clipping on the peaks in your recording - not so many/much that it sounds bad. For your future recordings you could try to reduce the record level so your meter runs 3 or so dB lower as you record. That should make your finished chapters come in at the right volume and may eliminate the clipped peaks.
