Section 21

The recording is PL good.

Karen, just FYI there is a deep low hum in the background of your recording. It sounds like my mom's swamp cooler, just low and in the background. A few times it fluctuated during the recording so I'm thinking it is some electronic interference between your computer and microphone. Maybe play around with your equipment for other recordings. Also, your recording ended when you stopped speaking and LV likes to have a few seconds of silence after you finish speaking.

Other than those items you have a great voice and good emotion. Thank you for the recording!

Yes, I have been trying to hunt down that background hum---I think it's my computer-laptop. I will see if it can be addressed. I love Wilkie Collins and enjoyed the recording!
Thanks!

Hello. I am newly registered, and a first-time recorder. I'm not sure that I understand the process of "claiming" a section to read, but I would like to do "The Two Women," the first section in Wilkie Collins' The new Magdalen.

Hi and welcome to librivox!

You are welcome to read that section. To be able to sign you up, i need to know under which name or pseudonym you would like to appear in the catalog. We can also link to your personal website or blog.

Please also complete the one minute test before getting started :D thank you!
