Karen,
There seems to be a problem when I try and download your file. Are you sure you uploaded as a mp3? I could be the # sign in the file name. That section number should be 02 and not #2. Please update the file name and reupload. Also, I need the file duration time whenever you post a link.

Barry,
Has the MC folder location changed with the software upgrade? I tried to get to your folder to check this file but my bookmark for the directory is broken. :hmm:

Karen,
I have the file and you are in for PL. Did you forget to noise clean?

Barry,
I fixed my bookmark.

The file in the window still had the number sign in it and wouldn't open. I cut the file from the window and reposted it with 02 but it still wouldn't open. I deleted the file.

Can it still be found if it's in the system correctly? It might have to be reuploaded.

Hi Craig,
I pulled it from Barry's folder, changed the file name and uploaded again.

Thanks for section 2 Karen :D

2:20 so late as the 1st of October last, nineteen months – you read list

5 seconds of silence at the end

Big hum and there are many spikes in your reading -

The section needs to cleaned for noise and compressor should be used.
Here is a video on use of compression.

You did a good job reading for such a large section

Interesting ideas in this section about the closing of banks and removal of the Indians.
the time will come when it will be the true policy of the General Government, as to some of the States, to transfer to them for a reasonable equivalent all the refuse and unsold lands and to withdraw the machinery of the Federal land offices altogether. All who take a comprehensive view of our federal system and believe that one of its greatest excellencies consists in interfering as little as possible with the internal concerns of the States look forward with great interest to this result.
The system of removing the Indians west of the Mississippi, commenced by Mr. Jefferson in 1804, has been steadily persevered in by every succeeding President, and may be considered the settled policy of the country.

Stipulations have been made with all the Indian tribes to remove them beyond the Mississippi, except with the bands of the Wyandots, the Six Nations in New York, the Menomonees, Munsees, and Stockbridges in Wisconsin, and Miamies in Indiana.

I removed all clipping that showed up on the recording and did a replay gain twice. It passed the Checker software once I adjusted for the sound. I also did noise reduction twice.
I am sorry if I misunderstood the instructions. I wrote down what I thought the name should be like as I have on other recordings. I realized I missed the 5 seconds at the end and I apologize. I did think I had the one second at the beginning.
I am still rather new! Let me know if I need to do anything more.
I did enjoy reading and learning!

I also did not realize that the two months started from a different date. I thought it began with my Nov. sign up.

Hi Karen,
I think you got confused with a PL note. Your 2 month deadline does start with the Nov date you signed up on.

There is a PL note for a reading correction at 2:20 where you read “list” instead of “last”.

When you get all finished please remember to post a new link after you upload.

Don’t fret. We have all been new and it looks as if you have been doing a great job. Thanks for your help.
