Greg:

Section 9 is PL OK! Nicely done!

(Devorah--I went ahead and updated the MW. I hope that was ok.)

Many thanks.

More than ok. Very much appreciated, in fact. Especially since something weird just started happening to my computer, so until I fix it, looks like my only internet connection is through my mobile. I think I will have to uninstall and reinstall a certain program, but I'm worried that uninstalling it might prove difficult. It'll be an adventure!

Wow, uninstalling was actually very easy! Now maybe I can reinstall, then do some tinkering... Or do some tinkering, and then reinstall... Or...

Thanks for your hard work, everyone!

And, for those who may be interested, the workaround that I found did fix another annoying little problem I've been having (but ignoring) with my computer for months, but did not fix the problem I was trying to fix. I re-installed, fully expecting everything to work, and the same thing happened again, sooo... Re-uninstall, and... It's past my bedtime.

Ugh, the misery of computer hell. We've all been there and have our medals from battles fought. I hope you manage to fix it. I've found a fifteen pound sledgehammer applied delicately to the interface can be quite effective for re-tuning. :D

Thanks for the opportunity to contribute to the book, team. I, and fifty chihuahuas, 1 Doberman, 5 Alsatians and a pug, salute you.

Devorah:

I, too must add my sympathies for your computer's stubbornness. (In my case, perhaps a little more subtle, I threaten to send mine back to the factory to be turned into programmable toaster ovens). Sometimes, it works.

I just posted chapter 4 of Guy Fawkes here:

https://librivox.org/uploads/maryannspiegel/guyfawkes_04_lathbury_128kb.mp3

One discrepancy: your notes say to include "_128kb" in the filename however the Checker tool flags that as an error.
Please clarify.

Ed:

I think that is done automatically in audacity--if you look at the link you uploaded that is already on the end of it.

I'll PL Section 4 this evening.

Many thanks,

Mike, Bob, Ed, and Greg:

Congratulations on your successful readings for this project. It was a great privilege to listen to each of you and I hope to see and hear on you on the boards in the near future.

Devorah--thanks so much for taking a chance on a "rookie" pl and letting me be a part of this project.

Mary Ann--it is always a joy to work with you. I appreciate your skill, talent, and the magic that goes with being an MC.

The last syllable is in. I think my listening is done.

Many thanks to all. Image

Thanks, Ed! This finishes out this project!

What is the exact message that Checker is giving you? The file you uploaded is named correctly. Did you perhaps have a capital letter in it before? To my knowledge, the only time Checker will say anything about file names is if they include one or more capital letters. Maybe "_128Kb" instead of "128kb"?
