Chapter 29 was exported at the wrong bits/second setting. You sent 192 kbps, it should be 128 kbps. I listened to the end and it's fine, but LibriVox needs a 128 kbps file.

This is so much better! Chapter 11 - "The Sailor Man" - PL OK
I'm going to post a few screen captures showing what Audacity is showing about your recordings. I'm invited to a picnic today, so it may take me until tomorrow before I do that.

1) Your overall level as reported by Checker is 86.9 dB, which is toward the low end of the LibriVox acceptable range (86 - 92). As a part of the changes I suggested I said you would probably want to add some amplification. Adding 2 more dB to whatever you did here should put your future recordings right in the middle of the range.
2) Be careful with sibilances and popping 'p' sounds. You were right on the edge of getting into trouble in this recording. A small change in the microphone position can make a huge difference.
3) I made some screen grabs showing how Audacity can display what's going right and wrong in a recording. I posted them at
http://fullloon.com/Audacity/ - I don't know if they will help you or not but take a look.
4) Keep recording for LibriVox!

I haven't marked the Magic Window - that server is unavailable at the moment. I'll try to remember to come back later and fix it up.Section 29 - "Hokey Pokey" - PL OK

Hi PatsyAnn, it's the number from the "magic window" - so you would sayPatsyAnn wrote:Hello,

Whoops. I overlooked that Patsy. It should have said "Section number" instead of chapter number. Thanks for pointing that out.loon wrote:Hi PatsyAnn, it's the number from the "magic window" - so you would sayPatsyAnn wrote:Hello,
