FROM SAIL TO STEAM: RECOLLECTIONS OF NAVAL LIFE by Alfred Thayer Mahan (1840 - 1914).

This project is complete! All audio files are available on our catalog page:
https://librivox.org/from-sail-to-steam-recollections-of-naval-life-by-alfred-thayer-mahan/

Alfred Thayer Mahan, American historian and author, whose The Influence of Sea Power Upon History, 1660–1783 became instrumental in the formation of naval strategy by many nations in the 20th century, here recounts his observations and experiences over forty years of active duty as a naval officer. ( Delmar H. Dolbier)
  • Text source (only read from this text!): https://www.gutenberg.org/ebooks/25122
  • Type of proof-listening required (Note: please read the PL FAQ): standard

IMPORTANT - soloist, please note: in order to limit the amount of languishing projects (and hence the amount of files on our hard-pressed server), we ask that you post an update at least once a month in your project thread, even if you haven't managed to record anything. If we don't hear from you for three months, your project may be opened up to a group project if a Book Coordinator is found. Files you have completed will be used in this project. If you haven't recorded anything yet, your project will be removed from the forum (contact any admin to see if it can be re-instated).

Please don't download or listen to files belonging to projects in process (unless you are the BC or PL). Our servers are not set up to handle the greater volume of traffic. Please wait until the project has been completed. Thanks!

Oh, this sounds interesting! I'll MC this for you! :D

Okay, we're all set - you know the drill from here

I see that you indicated that there are 2 introductions. It depends on how you want to read them, either in one section 0 or spread out to two sections? In the latter case you might want to consider starting with section 1, since the section numbers will not align with the chapter numbers anyway. I'll leave that decision to you though. :D

Have fun!
Cheers, Ava.
