COMPLETE: The American Book of The Dog -jo
Jo: Their names are included in each recording, but of course this isn't searchable in our catalog. Of the 48 authors, I don't actually know which ones are the most prominent. I thought perhaps it might be handled like a collection of short stories.

That really isn't an appropriate option in this case. These were just intended to be chapters in a single book, not stand alone vignettes.
Jo
Thanks, Jo.

Michele,
PL notes Chapter 20 The Cocker Spaniel.
Beautifully read!
Two notes:
1: 38:59 . . .If you do not breed your own . . . I hear "if you do not break your own"
2:45:30 body well ribbed back; short in the coupling; flank free . . . "short in the coupling" is missing

Time change noted in MW.
Sorry I misquoted the number of pages on the Bedlington Terrier. I said 8. It was 16, so you got roped into a much longer file. I'll PL it soon.

Good job, Tom. Volume consistent throughout.
Just a few tid-bits I noticed that might confuse:
11:15 in the old days of the fancy, the favorites..., you say "the favorites of the fancy".
15:25 "at least he is not so ugly that after his coat has been cared for it is considered"..., that is missing
17:35 breedings, you say breedlings

Section 24 is PL OK. Well read, Colleen, and very interesting. The sketches in this chapter don't look anything like the Irish Terrier pictured on the AKC website today. I have seen these dogs at bench shows and they seem to bounce when they walk, as if they had flubber on their feet. Looks like their ears aren't cropped these days. And I think they get their hair evenly cropped and shaped these days, like poodles do.
This is way too much dog for me, I'm afraid. They need countryside and rats to kill. I need a dog to bring me my slippers, make me laugh some, cuddle some, be my doorbell, then otherwise sleep all day.

If you don't think the Irish Terriers look like modern ones, wait til you see the illustrations for the Yorkshire terriers!
Thanks for the PL-ing! I'm going to try to finish editing the Yorkies and get that posted today.
