In listening and editing I have noticed I am very "breathy" between sections if you need me to re record due to that let me know.

Also I think the link was meant to be https://librivox.org/reader/11519 found it with a search.

thanks :)
Really excellent reading. I bow down to your skills. :-P

Only one thing keeping this from being PL OK: this is missing the chapter name and number at the beginning (around the 00:20 mark). I know we're doing section numbers at the beginning, but I presume we still need to include the chapter information as well. (Unless I'm mistaken -- Availle, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.)

Thanks Chuck!

Yes, we need the chapter name and number in the beginning. It helps for example blind people who can't read what's on their mp3 player know where they are in the book.

Please include that info into the file and we'll be fine here.
Cheers, Ava.

May I suggest updating the lead post then from

"Shadowings, by Lafcadio Hearn. Section[number]"

To

"Shadowings, by Lafcadio Hearn. Section[number] [Section Name/Chapter Name]"

In the instructions for pre recording :)

Hehe thanks ^_^ don't compliment me too much... trying to avoid having to squeeze my head through my studio door!

I have adjusted recording 16
Length - 10:33
https://librivox.org/uploads/availle/shadowings_16_hearn_128kb.mp3

And here is Section 17 also with the adjusted pre section text
Length - 16:06
https://librivox.org/uploads/availle/shadowings_17_hearn_128kb.mp3

Section 17 I did some re takes on some words I tripped over (a number of words I have not heard in a long time even for an Englishman!) so let me know if the change in intonation at those points is obvious and need to be redone.

I am fully expecting some more notes/adjustments... however if these will work then If I could request section 19 to finish up the book?

Oh you missed the title there - I have to say you must be the first one NOT to read the title of a story in a book like this...

Section 19 is yours - and off we go to Readers Found! :D

Ah, that's what happened. No big deal - there's a reason we don't do this "live"

Thanks for your latest file! I hope it does not only include the title of the section but also the complete "end of book" statement... :P

I'm sorry there's nothing more to read for you here; I hope you find something equally interesting elsewhere in our forums. Sometimes there are sections "orphaned" if the original reader cannot make it, so you may want to check back at a later time.

Hello, I hope I didn't take too long to finish.

This was my first recording attempt so I am sure there are things I will have to fix. Please let me know what I can do to fix it. Thank you!

Thank you!

You have two months to finish a section, so you are well within your time slot, no worries!

Two things rightaway:
- could you please give me the length of your recording? I need this during cataloging.
- the filename should say 05 instead of just 5, it's not a big deal I can change it on the server. If there are any PL notes, please reupload with this corrected filename.
Cheers, Ava.

Sections 15 and 19 PL OK. Phenomenal reading. I'm quite impressed!

I have to take my daughter to the library, so I have to log off now. I'll listen to more audio files when I get back.

According to the time on the file in my folder it is 16:59.

Availle already mentioned the file name issue, so no need to bring that up.

This is great. Lovely reading. There's just one minor issue: the silence at the end is far too long. Each recording should end with only five seconds of silence. This one concludes with a stretch of silence far longer than that.

Otherwise, this is wonderful. Nicely done!
