Obviously, these poems were written in a different time with a little different cultural conditioning but I feel that there is underlying affection in them and tried to read them that way (if it doesn't come across then it's only because I don't really know what I'm doing :mrgreen: )

I also think that calling ben king a racist would be much too one dimensional a view of his poems and also of history.

Thank you so much, Larry, that means a lot. :9: And I definitely agree, Carolin, though I think many might still view them through the racial lens and i just don’t want to offend anyone . . . but i also figure the reader’s job is no judgement one way or another :) so try not to overthink it (bad at that :oops: )
