I pronounce it as "draft" as well. That is what we call "draft horses" in Louisiana at least
I believe I have a few instances in section 4 that I turned in earlier today, as well as section 2 that I did a while back

I do understand & I think it still wonderful for you to record.mariechristian wrote: ↑November 18th, 2022, 9:07 pmI pronounce it as "draft" as well. That is what we call "draft horses" in Louisiana at least

Okay & thank you for the comment.Lynnet wrote: ↑November 19th, 2022, 6:58 am Just for clarification… we don’t usually comment on pronunciation as there tend to be so many “correct” ways to say things in English, based on accent, location, etc. Oftentimes, it does depend on where you look things up. OED is frequently different from Merriam-Webster.
Hello again Jessica,adr6090 wrote: ↑November 18th, 2022, 8:58 pm Jessica,
I apologize for taking awhile to reply, here it is.
The pronunciation of draught sounds like knot only with a dr instead of the kn. Pretty much it sounds like drot,(not with a hard o, more of a soft o if you will).Make sense?
Interesting for the dictionary you looked in to have an "f" in their pronunciation. Hmmm.

Having listened to section 09 was a great way to start my morning off with your pleasant voice, thank you for that.
I did notice a few areas though that do need your attention, please.
-4:39 text is " the negro has a natural aptitude" ; I heard " the negro has a natural appetite"
-5:54 text is "though shalt noy plow with an ax and an ass together" ; ax should be ox
-8:31 text is "for men and mules grew to know one another"; I did not hear the "to"
side note here: I would like to mention how impressed I am with the ability of the mules to even "transport water in the bags of rope, or cord, which swelled and became water tight". That on its own sounds quite laborious for said mules, to me at least. Wow!!
-17:34 text is "besides one of the most effective in draught" while I hear "draft instead of draught. Please change.
-end silence should be an additional 4 seconds as a total of 5 is the recommendation.
Please do take care of above noted corrections & repost. Thank you Jessica.

Thanks for listening and catching those errors, I've made all changes below - except for 'draught'. I really enjoyed learning so much about mules, I definitely have major respect for them now!
