Thank you for your patience! I got back in town this week. Had a lot of fun with these chapters!

Part 17:

22:56

Part 18:
https://librivox.org/uploads/lynnet/ringfornancy_18_ford_128kb.mp3
21:25

("Kill my aunt as well as my uncle? I should be an orphan.")

Part 19:

27:41
Thank you for sections 17-19! It wasn't a long wait at all. I tend to take several weeks recording and editing a three-minute section, so I'd be a hypocrite if I were impatient.

Section 17 sounds great, as always! The only note I have is that at 11:29, "And is it likely," you say "And it is likely" (p. 303). PLing for sections 18 and 19 to follow by the end of tomorrow!

Thanks again for these chapters! Section 18 is PL OK. 19 is nicely done as always, and the only note I have is that at 10:55, "and he has really stood up and spoken like a man," you say "and he has really stood up to me and spoken like a man" (p. 337).

That scene from section 18 is one of many that's made me chuckle while I've been PLing this project!

Fair enough! I try to do a little each weekend, so I feel slightly guilty taking a couple weekends off like that. But I understand that LibriVox gives us a generous two months before anyone really worries, so. :)

Weirdly, despite my doing everything the same as always (noise reduction, de-clicker, either ReplayGain or Loudness Normalization to -19.0 LUFS) on a track that was exactly the same as before except for those couple seconds of editing, the mp3's dBs kept coming out in the low 70s. I had to run Loudness Normalization with LUFS set to -5.0 to get the file to pass the Checker with a healthy 86.7 dB. I don't get it, but hopefully I don't have to get it, because here it is. :?

(This time, everything worked just like it should. ReplayGain took me direct to 88.7 dB. I do not pretend to understand any of this.)

17 and 19 are PL OK! Thank you! So weird about the volume in 17. I have to say I don't remember running into anything like that before!

Yay! It's been fun working with you on this book. Looking forward to hearing it all together when it's done!

The only thing remotely like it that happened to me before was when the mp3 came out too loud. But the cause was pretty obvious when I listened to the mp3 - I'd forgotten to hit SOLO on the final version, and accidentally exported the original recording AND the cleaned-up version AND the final normalized track all together. Easy explanation, easy fix.

This, though, all I can do is shake my head and chalk it up to gremlins!

Sometimes that's the only conceivable explanation when stuff like this happens!
