Well, I did listen to it again and your anti-echo work has paid off. Much less room echo on this one - keep doing them this way. :-)

The replacement recording is PL OK. (Phil, you don't need to pull out the previous recording.) I've noted the new chapter length in the Magic Window.

Thank you! I couldn't have done it without your feedback :)

Hi Shelly - there is one problem with your chapter. The program 'checker' reports your overall volume is at 85.6 dB while LibriVox wants the volume in the range 86.0-92.0 dB. If you open your chapter in your editor (Audacity?) and amplify the whole thing by 3.4 dB, then re-export and re-upload it will be right in the middle of the correct volume range. (Any amplification between 0.5 dB and 6.3 dB would work.)

Everything else about the chapter is first rate.

PL OK, thank you.

I wonder what Johnnie Bear thought about his kin's skin being used as a blanket in the hunter's cabin.

Kerry -
Poetry! A surprise.

At ~0:39 there is a missed word: "For Tabby was as graceful" If you can fix it cleanly please do so (it's poetry, after all, and syllables count). If this will result in a bumpy edit, leave it as is.

AT ~3:32 there is a missed edit: "He was handsomer far - He was handsomer far"

Heather -
Your chapter needs two easy changes:
1) The silence before you start reading should never be longer than 1 second (around half a second is ideal). I measure just over 5.1 seconds of opening silence, so you should trim off about 4 1/2 seconds from the very start of the chapter.
2) The silence after your last word should be at least 5 seconds. (Up to 10 seconds of ending silence is allowed in LibriVox recordings, but it's quite rare for any readers to include that much.) I'm seeing slightly less than 4.2 seconds of silence at the end of your chapter. Please add around a second of silence to the end of your chapter. It's possible to tell Audacity to generate mathematically-perfect silence, but a better way is to copy something like 0.8 to 1.0 second from the closing silence and pasting that onto the very end of the recording. That will be "room tone" - the background noise as picked up in your recording location.

Your recording of the story itself is nicely done and well within all the technical specs (thank you). Once you make the edits to the ends of the chapter and upload again all should be right with the world.
