Fun Fact: I used to live in the small Kentucky town where this legend takes place! Sadly never heard anything about the story of Bill Stout though.

Thank you so much!

Although I should point out that the name is all wrong. Make sure you're mindful of sticking to our naming conventions (explained in the first page). I'll fix this one myself though, so you're good to go for now. :-)

Thanks for helping me out. I'm a rookie and still struggling with the conventions, but I
sure am enjoying Librivox, getting to read material I never would have seen otherwise.

I indeed forgot to trim the open. Corrected and re-uploaded.

I am enjoying these stories. Is there going to be a reading of Volume 2 ( I assume if there is a Volume 1 there is a volume 2 )?

That was quick! PL ok!

I don't know whether Chuck has any plans for volume 2 when this is done. I don't, personally. But even if we don't launch volume 2 right away, we can add it to the "multivolume works" thread, so someone will probably pick it up sooner or later: viewtopic.php?f=1&t=37671

This one is fun. It's kind of like, pick your favorite origin story! :D

A few issues here to correct:
The volume is too high. It needs to be reduced by about 6 dB.
Your ending silence is a little bit too short. There should be about 5 seconds, and you've only got around 4. There is also a rustling sort of noise during that ending silence. It's not strictly necessary to cut that out (if that had been been the only issue, I wouldn't have mentioned it), but it is a nice touch, if you'd like to clip it out.
While you're at it, go ahead and fix the file name, as Chuck already mentioned. You typed it in your post, but that isn't what makes the difference. When you save the file on your computer, you need to give it that name, exactly in that format. Then when you upload it, the name sticks.

If you need any guidance in how to make these changes, you can always ask for help!

This is a funny one, especially that last line. :D

Checker is flagging this for low volume. It just barely squeaks past under the threshold, at 85.9 dB, so not awful. Still probably best to bring it up a bit.
3:31 I checked the text here because what I was hearing didn't make sense to me. What I am hearing is, "...and at the other end of this window stool Bill Stout." The text reads, "...and at the other end of this weapon stool Bill Stout." (p. 320) This also doesn't really make sense. I suspect that "stool" is a typo for "stood," but I think "window" should definitely be changed to "weapon," regardless of whether you also choose to correct a suspected typo or let it stand.

I'm new to Audacity (good thing that's a capital A or I'd be lying) but I have fiddled with the sound and will try uploading again. Thank you for being patient.

Is this the correct address?

It's the correct file name, yes. Or, it appears to be, at a quick glance. (The best way to ensure that you have the right file name is to copy the example given in the first post and then just change the section number.) But it's not a complete address. If it was complete, it would show up as a clickable link.

I'm not really sure what you're asking, though. Are you just double checking that you have the correct file name? Or are you trying to upload your corrections? If you're posting an upload, it will need to show up as a clickable link.
