Krista - everything was going fine until after "end of section 112" where you have and extra line that didn't get removed. Please edit off that unwanted "Perhaps the most dangerous are the so-called carchaodons" and upload again. Then will all be well.

P.S. That shark species Isistius braziliensis is a real mouthful. You've gotta love all those Latin names.
(The 20 rows of teeth are a real mouthful as well.)

Terribly sorry about that. Here is the fix https://librivox.org/uploads/philchenevert/thestrangestthingsintheworld_112_henry_128kb.mp3

(and I debated long and hard between carchaodons and carcharodons. Google only recognizes the second, but I checked archive.org for the original text, and there was no R, so I stuck with the word as written.)

Thank you Krista. Section 112 is PL OK.

I'm not particularly surprised at your carchaodons vs. carcharodons dilemma (maybe a bit surprised you noticed).

It seems to me this book was rushed into print. It would have been easy for Henry to miss the spelling when writing the section or for the letter to get omitted in the typesetting process. Our job here is to as faithfully as possible reproduce the original printed work and not to fix errors. So yes, going with what was written was the right call.

The book is now 97% complete.

LOL. I was trying to look up the pronunciation and was stymied by google. So I adjusted as best I could, and there we are :)

There are two errors in the file name:
1) you put your forum name juliaviolin in there where the author name henry should be, and
2) there is an extra _mp3 in the file name. Be aware that Audacity will add .mp3 to files of that type on its own, so you needn't type that part. To fix this, rename the file from thestrangestthingsintheworld_108_juliaviolin_128kb_mp3.mp3 to thestrangestthingsintheworld_108_henry_128kb.mp3 and upload it again. The recording is fine, so when you've uploaded your renamed file it will be PL OK. It's See PL notes until then.

Saying quote and end quote are optional for LibriVox recordings. (I believe, Phil may have additional information on this.) Some readers will alter their voice a bit for a direct quotation - but that can be troublesome for paragraph-length quotes like the two you had in this section.
Oops! Sorry about that. Here's a link with the (hopefully) correct file name: https://librivox.org/uploads/philchenevert/thestrangestthingsintheworld_108_henry_128kb.mp3

I wasn't sure what to do with the long quotes -- I did think announcing the quotation might be helpful since it's so long. I'd be happy to re-record if that'd be preferable!

Julia -
With the correct file name section 108 is now PL OK. There's no need for you to remove the words "quote" and "end quote" - it can stand as-is.

I'm a bit disappointed Thomas Henry chose to not write about the last few (above-ground) weeks of the cicada life cycle - that part is interesting, too.

We are now down to just two uncompleted segments in this book. Wow - Phil predicted 50 forum pages for this book; it looks like we'll hit that number.

It's PL OK, but it was marked as such before. Why did you replace it?

Many thanks to Phil for finding the book and leading us through it!

Is LibriVox on track to another record year anyone?
