Sezione 193, sonetto XVVI:
https://librivox.org/uploads/lynnet/sonnetsandodes_193_petrarca_128kb.mp3
(1:18)
Reading this sonnet I had a doubt:
At the beginning of the fourth line "provaì" is written with the accent on "i".
The pronunciation "provai" seems more normal to me, unless it means in a truncated way "provai io".
But comparing with other editions I find no trace of the accent.
Let me know what you think about.

Hi Pier.
I do think is a common typo. Sometimes they would mismatch and use the accented "ì" instead of the common "i"
(mind that here is particularly visible due to the peculiar font used)
I also found other versions, and there is no trace of accent.
I would read it the normal way.
Hope this help

Pier
Hi Pier.
To be true this is Sonetto XLV, already read in section 191.
You probably named it wrongly

Sure I will check it. Thanks.
Ok for "Provai" I already read it without an accent on the "i". I will check the missmatched sonnet asap. Although tomorrow morning I will be busy with a routine orthopaedic visit of my wife Serena, and I will also be quite busy looking at the Australian Open (Algy I mainly am interested in seeing good tennis, but in case a good tennis is played by Italian players, for me, even better! :D )

Hi Algy
at 0:48, 4 lines to the bottom, I hear "is now tenanted by woe!" instead of "now is tenanted by woe!"

I don't even know if reversing two words is considered an error....
You didn't change the meaning at all.
It's true that here a Word Perfect PLing is required, tho.
