It’s not essential to be absolutely accurate. Less than 5 seconds, some players cut off the end; too long and listeners will think something has gone wrong. It was decided many years ago that 5 seconds is about right (we used to have 10 seconds for sections over 30 minutes long…)

I'm so sorry for the delay! I'm still getting the hang of recording and the kind of environment it needs, so it needed a bit of time to get right. Again, I'm so sorry for being the last one to post the file.

Also, Audacity is showing the duration of the as 17:56 but when I open it in browser, it is showing it as 17:55. What do I take as the right time?

Thank you. Yes, there is quite a steep learning curve for most of us. It does get easier.
As for the time, such a small discrepancy is immaterial. If it was 17:56 or 7:56, that’s a different matter
