Greetings -

Chriz, welcome to the world of LibriVox. May we hear your voice often.

Section 27 was well-read and needs no further attention. Definitely PL OK.

Thanks for the good PL, Lomond!
Corrected file uploaded, and also Section 5

Every now and then there's one of these that gets to me emotionally, and this was one of those.

I notice that this submission has been PL ready for some time, is there anything on my end that is holding it up from being approved, or what adjustments I need to make? Just wondering?

Not to my knowledge. I presume that Lomond has just not gotten to it yet. I don't know what his criteria are for the order he's listening in. We don't really have hard-and-fast rules for DPLs to follow in that regard.

Thank you, Yolanda. These are in the MW, and I'll drop Lomond a note to make sure he knows where this project stands!

Greetings -

Chapter 17:

YourBookVoice again shows he has an excellent voice for reading these sermons.

But, alas, part of the chapter is missing.

TIME: 14:33 TEXT: After "an indication that you may repent now" the reading has all of Page 196 missing.

Greetings -

One of the pleasures of being a DPL is hearing the improvements that readers make as they read more and more.

Yolandareads, the quality of your reading and offerings is from one of those showing good improvement.

Chapter 19 is PL OK.

Chapter 20 needs the opening silent period to be cropped to half a second and it will be PL OK.

Have to tend to some mundanities of life and I will be back to finish Chapter 18.

Thank you for the encouragement, Lomond. I've trimmed the opening silence for Chapter 20, and the new runtime is 17:12.

Some quick notes on Section 13:

Very nicely read with good diction and inflection. Just three things that need attention:

TIME: 01:02 TEXT: "1 Samuel xvii. 37." Reading just has "Samuel 37"

TIME: 17:15 TEXT: "while the wondering child gazed into the" Reading sounds more like "wandering" instead of "wondering".

The audio level comes in at 93.3 dB which is above our limit of 92 dB so it needs to be lowered.

Otherwise, it is PL OK.

Lomond
I have fixed the volume issue and file name on this one and inserted the correct scripture reference in my own voice, as the reader has not been online for a month. The reference is now at 0:52, because there was also an unnecessary repeat of the section title which I cut. I don't think the wonder/wander issue is a big deal, so we can let that one pass. Ready for spot PL.

Greetings -

A PL OK reading of Chapter 18 by yolandareads leaves us just one section needing some attention for this wonderful book to be completed.

It has been interesting listening to how different readers and different voices have approached these sermons...from the soft and gentle to the almost stern.

Are there any more Banks' books to be done?
