Hi there James and welcome!
I see your test is going well, you're in good hands with Mark!
About section 10, well, let me be very blunt here: I've just waited 6 weeks for this final section when the claimant disappeared 2 weeks after claiming. Since this project is otherwise complete, I'm not going to wait this long again, I want a super-fast turnaround. Yes, I'm not the super-patient one here...
How about a hard deadline on May 29, 2021. That'll give you about three weeks for a recording that shouldn't take much longer than a couple hours to complete.
Deal? Please let me know if that's okay with you.
Please do get an [OK] on your test before starting to record here, so we can be sure your equipment is up to the task.
As for long/short i, I'm afraid I'm not a native English speaker, so I have no idea what that means. I'm sure I'll get it wrong in writing too. But you have 16 finished recordings in this project at your disposal (and thousands more in the catalog), just have a listen to one or two intros; most people do get it "right" (even though there's no right/wrong pronunciation for LibriVox, since it's a made-up word anyway. )

We did a survey once, I think, and got multiple responses, and as Ava said there is no correct pronunciation. I personally use to short "i" sounds, as in "lit" Many use a long "e" sound as in "Lee" either two, or just the first "i" and short for the second. Once in a while I here the first long, as in "library" for the first "i." whatever sounds good to you is fine with us.
I was checking this to help out, but glad you're going to give it a go!
Welcome to LibriVox!

Aww, Larry... When I saw that there was a new post in this thread, I thought it was James, already finished with his chapter...
See, this is why I can't give advice about pronunciation intricacies. The i in "literature" and "ee" in "Lee" sound exactly the same to me except that the first is pronounced short and the second is long, of course. "library" is obviously another sound, but why this is called "long i" is beyond me.
German pronunciation (and Spanish, Italian, and even Japanese) is so much easier...

Sorry about that. It was a rookie mistake.
