super, this was really a great collection. I enjoyed it and understood quite a bit I think. 8-)

Just one small note to check:

> at 25:40: (p. 108) "mimo iż zwichnął jedną rękę" - I don't hear the last word, more something like "nogi". Could you check this please ? Maybe it's just a trick to my ears...

Thanks

Your ears were definitely correct  Here's a fixed version

As for understanding I'm sure it helps that Sienkiewicz uses bits of English throughout the text :)
This is a fragment of a larger collection of letters written for a newspaper. In this three-part text he talks about a hunting expedition that he was invited to (I like how he described this "sportsmen society" that invited him as " consisting of rich people who often don't know what to do with their money" ). Predictably, there's a lot about searching for and hunting animals, but there are also nature descriptions, reflections on the US and its recent history or descriptions of Native Americans.

yes possibly, but not only, there are so many words that remind me of Russian words which I already knew that I understood many sentences like that. I got all the hunting theme all right. 8-)

Thanks

Anthologie japonaise

Le Grillon, translated into french from Japanese by Leon de Rosny

"Go-kyô-gokû-ses-syô-saki-no-dai-iyô-dai-iin
vivait sous le règne de l'empereur Toba il (1184 à 1198)
et sous celui de Tsût si-mikado-no In (1199 à 12 10)"

I asked my librarian about the noise, and she said, "no one would come here
if they weren't allowed to talk out loud." So I read out loud.

Thank you, Czandra! I can't identify the Japanese author from the transcription (curiously, the author avoids kanji in the main text, but uses them freely in footnotes), so I added authorship information to the description, which will appear on the catalog page.

whoops, I thought "rękę" means "river"...because it's "reka" in Russian...so I was mistaken :? I guess I haven't understood as much then, I only guessed and guessed wrongly with false friends.

Sorry

I see. "Ręka" = "hand". "River" = "rzeka".

two nice finds, Czandra, thank you so much. :) Beautifully narrated as well.

Only a few small corrections needed:

for Le grillon:

> at 0:01: "cricket" - since this is the French translation we don't need the English title at the beginning, this can be cut. In the multilingual project we do not need to put English translations. In fact you could have read the disclaimer in French too, but this is optional. You could also opt for the short intro, since it's a very short poem

> at 0:29: "par cette nuit de gelée blanche" - you say "nuit blanche", the adjective can be cut at this point, especially because it's repeated in the second part

> at 0:45: "saki-no-dai" - you say "saki-do-no-dai" - this is a huge name

for Spes:

> at 0:04: "Hope" - also this English translation can get cut, as it's the French poem

thank you

Sonia
