Hello folks!

I haven't been here for ages, and I also haven't yet recorded in my own language, so I hope all is as it should be. Here's the Slovak version of Testament:

link: https://librivox.org/uploads/kazbek/testament_shevchenko_sk_k_128kb.mp3
Title in Slovak: Závet
Language: Slovak
Translator: Juraj Slávik (pseudonym Neresnický) 1890-1969
Source: Google books, magazine “Prúdy - Revue mladého Slovenska” 1911
Length: 01:20

Hope you like it! (I really do, because I'm travelling tomorrow and won't be back by the 1st :))
Also thanks ShiNeko for writing to me about this one.

Hello Korinka!
Thank you for your recording! I didn't notice that this was your first recording in Slovak. 🥳

If the recording needs some major corrections with re-recording, don't worry, we can wait for some time after Aug, 1st, for you to correct it. Happy journey!

A quick question for the Russian speakers: in Чмырев's translation, the third line has "широкаго". If this were a prose line, I wouldn't hesitate to read it as шиРОкава, with reduced vowels and a "v" in place of <г>. But it doesn't scan right in the meter of the poem. The stress seems to need to fall on the third syllable of the word, широКАго. I am wondering if Chrmyryov was trying to be all high-falutin' as in Old Church Slavonic, where this would be pronounced with a "g" not a "v". Thoughts?

I think that stress should be on the second syllable. The meter already changes in the word "лУга" in this line. This poem has not a rigidly fixed meter. In lines 5 and 6 it changes again. I think that lines 3 and 5 are more similar to each other from this point of view.

Kazbek wrote: June 25th, 2022, 5:10 pm Quite understandable. My only note is that I hear "von den Stürme" instead of "von dem Sturme" at 1:13.
Done at 1:08.
Same duration.
Kazbek wrote: July 26th, 2022, 5:58 pm I wasn't sure about your pronunciation of "схоронив" at 0:44 of Belousov's translation. I hear "схоронил", but it could be just how you say it. I believe you don't usually devoice word-final consonants.
Done at 0:44.

Hello sacapsie!
If you don't have time to correct the intro about LibriVox, I can copy this sentence from your previous recordings and insert it into the files.

Misha, I decided that contents is something which would be good to add to this kind of project as it goes only by authors name in the catalogue.
