Invitation to a journey, by Charles Baudelaire (1821 - 1867)

This project is now complete. All audio files can be found on our catalog page: https://librivox.org/an-invitation-to-a-journey-by-charles-baudelaire/
Multilingual Monthly Poetry Project is a project oriented to gather multiple translations and multiple contributions of one chosen poem for the current month. Welcome to the world of interpretations!

The poet, impressed by the beauty of the exotic countries, India and China, during his voyage in 1841, later writes a poem, in which he invites this beloved to a wonderful journey to the mysterious world with variety of colors, the world filled with serenity.

It isn't late. Remember we want multiple interpretations? :) It would be great if in this project have more French contributions.

Please, tell me the duration of the recording.

What a wonderful project! I hope you receive many, many submissions.

I have recorded the second English translation, the one by John Collings Squire:

I had a very quick look, and there might be another English translation available, if the MCs think it is okay:

Hello, Erin! Thank you for the recording. I think this edition was published in 1952, the year is noted wrongly because of the sentence: "First published in 1922", but it is related to the translations not to this collection. If we find the first edition than we'll be able to use this translation.
