I'm planning to read a short story using a new source, so I want to post a link beforehand to run it through you to make sure that my work isn't going to go to waste :)

The source is https://www.sbc.org.pl/dlibra/doccontent?id=29069 which is a digital library. If you scroll the side panel down, you'll see "public domain" written there. The story was also posted here: https://pl.wikisource.org/wiki/Engramy_Szatery where you can find the link to scans and publication info.
Want to hear some PREPARATION TIPS before you press "record"? Listen to THIS and THIS

Hi Piotrek,

Yes, the publication date of this issue is given in the metadata of the scan. The Silesian Digital Library is a reputable academic initiative, so we can trust their metadata. Thanks for checking!

 excellent, another Swedish contribution. Thank you so much. This one is also perfectly narrated and PL ok right away. Didn't get the whole details but I do know they were talking about smoking a lot

Good to see you back in action :)

Thanks! :)
It's about a man buying a cigar, and on a whim he shows a small landscape drawing to the girl behind the counter. She asks him "what does it mean?", but he does not know what to answer, because he doesn't think it means anything, beyond being a beutiful piece of art. She is saddened, thinking he is making fun of her for her lack of education and culture.
To me it symoblizes that many things have an intrinsic beauty, with no hidden meaning to find - looking for meaning where there is none prevents you from truly appreciating things. At least that's how I interpret it, not sure if Hjalmar Söderberg would agree :)

ah yes I can understand that, I also have a hard time killing any animal, even if they are "pests". I rather try to get them outside the window when I see one.

Another perfect narration and straight PL ok, thank you

thank you, Bernd, a very good choice of text, short but to the point. And excellently narrated.

Only one small detail...the author's name is Spitteler, not Splitteler ;) maybe you want to correct that in intro and outro.

Thank you Sonia,

I have improved the intro and outro. Also I have adjusted the name in the MP3 file.

New URL: https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/msw032_kriteriumgroesse_spitteler_loa_128kb.mp3

The length has remained the same.

Greetings from Germany. :)
