Anna2050 wrote: July 23rd, 2022, 3:00 am Hello,

I am posting a poem in Romanian. It is written by a classical Romanian poet, all Romanian school children learn some of his poems at school, because they have such a beautiful rhyme and rhythm.
Hi Anna,

It would be great to have a recording of this poem in our collection. Unfortunately, we can't use this particular source, because there isn't enough information about the edition it was taken from to perform a US copyright check. Luckily, I found an edition of this poem that we can use (Sonia, let me know if it's not accessible for you). In the future, it's better to check with us to verify that the source you'd like to use can be used at LibriVox before recording the text.

Thanks!

Thank you, Bernd! It's hard to tell whether they're telling us where they took the text or listing the original publication of the poem for reference, so it's safer to go with with the scan.

Cheers, :)

and, yay, another Romanian contribution, thank you so much, Anna. And what a lovely narration you did, your voice has an almost mystical quality, it reminds me of the wind passing over the fields and flowers and I think from what I understood this is very fitting for the topic of the poem. Very enjoyable. I loved it.

No textual errors. The only thing you need to adjust is the volume, which is too loud, we accept between 86 and 92 dB, yours is nearly 96. Please decrease by -5 to get into a good average, then reupload with the same filename and I will spot PL it.

Thank you, and I hope to hear more from you again :)

Hello,

Thank you very much for your prompt replies and for taking time and effort to review my recording! I really appreciate all your comments!
I am posting the recording again with the sound adjustments. However, I do not know for sure if I got it right. Please let me know if some other editing is necessary.
Thank you again very much!

 now it's down to 91.5 dB which is just inside our limits, so this can be marked PL ok. Actually if you had decreased by -5 as I suggested, it should have been down a bit more, so I'm not sure what exactly you did, but it's enough for our purposes.

Are you using Audacity ? If so I can give you a step-by-step on how to amplify or decrease.

And do you have the Checker program ? You can run your finished mp3 files through it and it will tell you the volume, so you know how to adjust it before you upload your file to LV for review. Very handy, I use it all the time. :) http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Checker

thank you

Hello,

Thank you very much for your answer! I use Audacity when I record the audio files but I do not know very well how to use all its functions. I have just downloaded Checker and it seems great. Thank you!

At long last, the Polish contribution is here 8-)

Title: Engramy Szatery
https://librivox.org/uploads/toddhw/msw032_engramyszatery_grabinski_pn81_128kb.mp3 duration 39:35
Author: Stefan Grabiński (1887-1936)
Source: https://www.sbc.org.pl/dlibra/doccontent?id=29069 (I've already mentioned that source on page 2 of the thread)
Publication date: 1926
Author on Wikipedia https://pl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stefan_Grabi%C5%84ski
Keywords: opowiadanie, groza, kolej, wypadek, widmo

I've recorded a bunch of stories by this author in 2012-2013. I was unable to do this was one as it wasn't published until 1926. Nice and eerie railway horror with a gruesome touch. I like the idea of the "spectre" of an event replaying itself under the influence of a sensitive person.
Want to hear some PREPARATION TIPS before you press "record"? Listen to THIS and THIS

Thanks, Piotrek! Whew, a MSW volume without a Polish contribution -- that would have been a real horror story.

Thank you! Djvu viewers seem to be unable to open the djvu format of the source, so we'll use the Project Gutenberg edition instead.
