Lovely! And I've learned a new English word, fancy-fair.

@Kitty

Hi Sonia. @philchenevert has strongly suggested that I record an item for an ongoing recording project, and you mentioned your multilingual collection to me in another thread. I'd love to contribute something in Irish for it.

You'll know that I intend to record this collection of folklore tales, all of which are standalone items: https://archive.org/details/ansgealuidhegae00hydegoog/page/292/mode/2up

It occurs to me that I might record the first of these stories, "An Sagart agus an t-Easpag" ("The Priest and the Bishop") for your multilingual collection. It's a lively adventure story with several twists and turns, and it's no more than ten minutes long, I'd guess. The added advantage is that the pdf provides a facing-page French translation, which would be a great help for readers of your collection.

Let me know what you think.

Hey there,

Happy to submit the Hebrew poem "Meeting, Half Meeting" (פגישה, חצי פגישה – Pgisha, Khatzi Pgisha) by the Israeli poet Rachel. A short poem about the flood of emotions that come after a brief meeting with a lover, written in 1925.

  • Duration: 01:04
  • Author: Rachel Bluwstein
  • Title: Meeting, Half Meeting (Pgisha, Khatzi Pgisha)
  • Language: Hebrew
  • Keywords: meeting; lovers; emotion; memories; love; Hebrew; Israel

By the by, I'm using a new microphone set-up, so let me know if there are any issues with the audio.

Cheers,
Nathan

the story as such would be an excellent choice for this collection, but, as I understood it, you want to record the entire book as solo, is that correct ? For that you would have to include the first story as well in your collection. And we do not use the same recording for two different projects, I'm afraid. There would be the possibility to record the same story twice, but if you are like me, you won't enjoy doing double work. So I would suggest using another story for this collection, or a poem, as you wish.

For example here seems to be a poetry collection if I'm not mistaken. https://archive.org/details/arinuilmdeails00debh/page/10/mode/2up

Maybe you like to take one of those ?

Hi Nathan,

We can only use texts from BenYehuda.org if they state clearly the publication year of the edition they transcribed, and the year is 1925 or earlier (1926 for the coming year). This is different from the year when the work was composed or first published. Unfortunately, I don't see this information on the page you read from. Unless I have overlooked it, we can't use the recording at LibriVox. :(
