Hello,

https://catalog.hathitrust.org/Record/009735769

This is the book of some moral stories in language "Marathi".
If book looks good to be part of collection, please let me know. Thanks.

Best,

We can only use texts from BenYehuda.org if they state clearly the publication year of the edition they transcribed, and the year is 1925 or earlier (1926 for the coming year).
Hey Michael,

You're right, the publication date isn't listed (BenYehuda.org is pretty bad at doing that...).
However, I searched around and found a copy of the original publication of the poem in the Israeli newspaper "Davar" from 1925:
https://www.davar1.co.il/24483/150716_old_davar-07/
The poem was later collected and published in 1927, but the text in the original publication is identical to that of BenYehuda.org.

Hope this helps,
Nathan

Hi Nathan,

I'm glad you were able to find a source we can use! I'll reach out to our Hebrew contributors to see if they are available to PL the content. In the meantime, I have a couple of technical PL notes:

1) The volume is 77.3 dB, which is outside our target range of 86-92 dB (89 dB being ideal). Please amplify the track by ~12 dB.
2) There are 1.5 seconds of silence at the start. Please shorten, so there's between 0.5 and 1 seconds.
3) There are 3 seconds of silence at the end. Please lengthen, so there's about 5 seconds.

You can wait to make these changes until you get the rest of the PL notes.

Thanks!

Hi Nathan,

I just listened to the poem by Rachel (פגישה, חצי פגישה). Enjoyed listening to it - very well read. You have the green light from me
So as long as you fix the technical notes from Michael, it should be good to deem this one PL OK :)

Regards,
Guy

Thanks for your contribution, Brian. Since this is your first recording, please let me know under what name (real or nickname) you would like to be credited in the catalog. We can also include a link to your personal website or blog, if you have one.

Sonia, how would you like to handle the PL?

Fun fact: this author lived to be almost 110 years old.

Thank you, Nathan. The poem is now PL OK!

Fun fact: a poem by this author was featured in LibriVox's very first multilingual collection (Multilingual Poetry Collection 001).

 wow ! 109 years old.

I'll do the PL, looking forward to this. But not today, need to visit my parents and grandparents now for New Year. It will be done tomorrow morning.

Hi, Michael.

If it's at all possible, use my real name (Brian Ó Broin) and my internet handle in parentheses (@brianeanna). If not possible, just use my real name.
Here's the nearest thing I have to a website: https://sacsanua.blogspot.com/

Hi Brian,

Hmm, I don't think we've included a handle in a display name before. I could clarify our policy on that if you like. In the meantime, I've used your real name. Here's your reader page:

ok sorry for the delay, I finally had time to PL this poem. Wow, the script is very hard to decipher. I learnt Irish with "normal" Roman alphabet. I think I managed to follow along though and it seems like you did not forget anything major.

> I see you chose to omit "man" and the "woman" at the beginning of each stanza, was there a reason for that ? Usually we read everything the way it is written, and don't edit the author's words. There was probably a reason why he wanted to have those things said by the woman or the man. ;) Could you please reintroduce those words at the beginning of the correct stanzas ?

Some small technical adjustments that you can do while you're at it:

> the volume is too loud. We accept between 86 and 92 dB, yours is over 94 dB. Please decrease overall volume by -4 db to get close to the perfect average of 89

> at the beginning: two seconds silence is too long for a recording to start. We recommend between 0.5 and 1 second maximum

> at the end: 15 seconds of silence are again too long. We have a standard of 5 seconds of silence at the end of a recording (you can see those details in the very first post of each project)

Other than that, sounds like a good reading, and you did not read too fast. :) thanks
