Recull de contes, by Prudenci Bertrana (1867 - 1941)

This project is complete and all audio files can be found in the catalogue: https://librivox.org/recull-de-contes-by-prudenci-bertrana/
//Prudenci Bertrana (Tordera, 1867 - Barcelona, 1941) was a modernist writer, director of magazines and contributor to various periodicals. His literary style did not follow the fashions of the time. He is best known for his novel Josafat (1906), for his late autobiographical trilogy (1931-1948) Entre la terra i els núvols ('Between the Earth and the Clouds'), and for his collection of short stories Proses bàrbares ('Barbarian Prose') (1911). He published his first short stories in 1903, some of which have been considered the best ever written in Catalan. His storytelling production has three main themes: the landscape, the peasants and the beasts. His work, structured from a minute and detailed observation of the world, is based on the experience of his own life as a person and writer. In this "Collection of Short Stories", we offer seven narratives published between 1905 and 1923.

Dear friends,

This is a collection of texts published in various sources. Let me know if you think that this could be better clarified in the description.

As such, this project could conceivably include many more texts if we made an open call. We have basically ensured four readers. I do not know if open collections such as these can keep adding more items. If this were possible, we could set deadlines for proposals and final submissions to ensure that the project comes to an adequate completion.

Let me know what you recommend.

Best wishes,

Joan Pujolar

Dear friends,

Just one detail I just recalled.

The work of author Prudenci Bertrana will be released on the public domain in Spain next JANUARY 1ST 2022. However, I understand that the texts that we propose are already PD in the US.

Let me know if you prefer us to begin uploading the files after this date. It's in 39 days.

Best,

Joan

Hi Joan, access to BNE texts is still restricted for me. I suggest we wait till January 2022 and see if they become available then. Are they available to you?

No. No access either from Spain. We can wait. In the meantime, I'll get the readers to set up their users accounts.

Hello Rapunzelina,

Awesome. It seems that the links already lead to the texts.

Or did you enter the valid links yourself? I cannot recall exactly how I had left it.

Anyway, I will recontact the readers straightaway.

Many thanks,

Joan

I don't think I changed any links, so this must be how you left it. Are they correct?

The Magic Window is in place, and you have access to fill it in! You can add more sections if you'd like to include more stories :D

Hello,

The links are correct, yes. So I had the good sense to leave everything ready, and trust that three Spanish National Library would promptly enable access timely and into the same links.

Uncharacteristically for Spain, it did!

I'll see whether I can get more readers and more stories, but people are daunted by having to go through the signing up and all the rest. They just want to do the fun part.

I have moved this thread to Readers Wanted to keep the Launch Pad tidy, but it would be nice if you could fill in the Magic Window with the sections titles etc.

Let me know what else I can help you with!

To clarify.

It may take a few days for the readers to upload the material yet. I am still checking that the files have the right intros and so on. It is going to happen soon, anyway.

Hi Joan! I am not in a hurry with this project, so you can make your own pace (and I'll try to keep up :D )

I have added fgali as DPL

fgali, if this is your first time, here are instructions about the Magic Window, including how to access for the first time: https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php?title=BC%27s:_How_to_update_the_Magic_Window
But if you have done this before, then you know what to do

fgali is already a senior DPL indeed

I am trying to recruit more people for Catalan projectes. Still too few.
