[COMPLETE]Multilingual Short Works Collection 028 - thw
Here is a canzone by Giacomo da Lentini, aka Jacopo da Lentini.
This is one of the most renowned poems of the Sicilian School.
Yep, turned in Tuscan although at least something of the original Sicilian can still be imagined.

Liber
Was he the one who popularized the -mente suffix in Italian? Thank you, Liber!
Michael
Actually that was already used in Latin, where "mente" is just the ablative of "mens, mentis". So, "with a mind attitude, or in a manner, such as can be described by the adjective just mentioned…": https://www.treccani.it/vocabolario/mente_res-efa0db69-0025-11de-9d89-0016357eee51/
Pier delle Vigne, Guido Guinizelli, and many minor authors, all formed adverbs in "-mente"
Cheers,
Liber
thank you Liber, another interesting choice and engagingly narrated. Absolutely flawless and PL ok right away.Liber wrote: ↑February 18th, 2021, 7:50 pmHere is a canzone by Giacomo da Lentini, aka Jacopo da Lentini.

do you want to read this book as a Solo project ? Then you have to fill out the template for solo readings: viewtopic.php?f=28&t=13513 (don't forget to change the language drop-down to Italian !) And you have to copy/paste all that is generated into a new post and launch it in the New Project Launch Pad: viewforum.php?f=28 You can see examples there what this will look like. Then an admin comes by and proposes to be MC (Meta-Coordinator) for you and you get access to a Magic Window where you can put in all the chapters and your links to the finished files. Ideally you also get a DPL (prooflistener) to check all your work.Ho iniziato anche un altro progetto che e' veramente nel mio cuore e spero di sottoporvelo presto. Mi puoi indicare per la lettura di romanzi completi qual'è la sezione dove caricare la registrazione?
It's good that you start out by trying group projects, and as soon as you feel ready to launch your solo you can do so. Only careful with the source text, it has to be in the public domain. Could you give me the link so we can check before you record anything and it may turn out a disappointement ?
Good luck !
Sonia
thank you for your time, this is the source https://archive.org/details/storiadiunacapi01verggoog

at least there is no problem with the text source, this is definitely public domain. Feel free to start whenever you are ready.FrancescaRoma wrote: ↑February 20th, 2021, 4:30 amthank you for your time, this is the source https://archive.org/details/storiadiunacapi01verggoog

Michael asked if I could PL in Hebrew, I did, PL OK.
Guy, you're an excellent reader (so please expect a PM on a GRAVE MATTER, aka "hatsilu!")
Guy, we just need a minor technical fix: please add a couple of seconds of silence at the end, for a total of ~5 seconds.
Thanks!
Michael
Uploaded the new mp3 with a 5 second delay at the end. Gave it the same name as before. Hope that's ok.

Duración: 40:36
I've discussed this with Maritza via PM and made the needed additional PL. The recording is now PL OK.Kazbek wrote: ↑February 16th, 2021, 8:43 pm He comprobado las correcciones y están bien.
Michael
Thank you, Guy! Yes, using the same filename is the right way to do it. The recording is now PL OK.jazzman wrote: ↑February 20th, 2021, 9:50 pm Hi Michael,

Minor point for the future: we ask readers to give us the duration (mm:ss) for every upload. I've captured the duration for this one. I hope we'll get more Hebrew readings from you!
Michael
ok great, thanks Michael. It's of course best to do all discussion "in the open" so we have a record on what has happened. It's better than via PM, which will get deleted with time.

I would like to suggest, and read, the story "Wie man einen Schnupfen kuriert", by Mark Twain, in German. Sourcetext is http://literaturnetz.org/2601, could you let me know if that is good (I'm new here so I want to be certain)?

your source is missing the year of publication (for example a scan of the page with the year). This is under EU law, the author and translator must be dead for more than 70 years. The servers are in the USA, U.S. law also applies - the release must have been 95 years ago.
However, I have an alternative if you can read fracture: https://archive.org/details/marktwainsausgew03twaiiala/page/16/mode/2up
Year of publication: https://archive.org/details/marktwainsausgew03twaiiala/page/n5/mode/2up
@ all: If I'm wrong somewhere, please correct me.

Hi Katharina, and thank you, Bernd, for helping out with an explanation and a PD source! The only thing I would add is that you could submit a reading of this text either to this collection or to the Sammlung kurzer deutscher Prosa -- whichever you prefer. In any case, I recommend that you check out the other project for useful tips on finding German sources that we can use (see "Wo finde ich geeignete Texte?"):lorda wrote: ↑February 24th, 2021, 3:32 pm your source is missing the year of publication (for example a scan of the page with the year). Oh, thanks for the information, I'm glad I double-checked! Yes, I can read fracture so your alternative is great, appreciate it.lorda wrote: ↑February 24th, 2021, 3:32 pmHello Katharina,Katharina21 wrote: ↑February 24th, 2021, 2:58 pm I would like to suggest, and read, the story "Wie man einen Schnupfen kuriert", by Mark Twain, in German.
