Welcome to LibriVox. I'd like to tell you that you've done an AWESOME job recording this long section.

Before I go on with my PL Notes, I would like you to know that you are free to ignore what you like. You aren't on any obligation to correct all of them. I just like to write what I noticed in the recording.

PL Notes:

Sara let me know that she won't be able to continue as DPL. Big thanks to Sara for her contributions! I'll DPL the rest of the project.

Hi Aida,

I did spot PL for section 1, and I wanted to check with you about the PL note above. I'm not sure what was in the original recording. I'm hearing alhamdu lillaha, and it looks like Sara was suggesting lillahi instead (although she didn't pronounce the final vowel in her sample). Did you decide to leave your version, or did I misunderstand the PL note? :)

Hi Michael,

"Lillahi" is the correct one. I recorded it again : https://librivox.org/uploads/annise/kalilawadimna_01_ibnalmuqaffa_128kb.mp3

Thanks for undertaking all those corrections! I wanted to check with you about two of them. As before, you're welcome to leave them as is, and doubly so because Arabic isn't my native language. :D

PDF Page 134 @3:00 حتى حملتَهُ
I hear "hamaltuh", and this is also how Sara said it... but doesn't it mean "I brought" instead of "you brought" (hamaltah)? (and, yes, I do realize that I'm up against two native speakers )

PDF Page 136 @7:30 ان يُسر
I hear "yusra" instead of "yusarr".

Not at all, you are right about hamaltah, I had it that way, but I changed it as I was told to

I changed both,

Thanks, Issam! The corrections are PL OK, but I noticed that the recording grew by 4 seconds since the last version. I took a closer look, and I think you forgot to delete one of the corrections from the end of the recording. While we're deleting stuff, could you also shorten the silence at the start? It should be no more than 1 second. :)

Thank you, PL OK! Congratulations on completing your first LibriVox contribution in Arabic (not an easy one)!

For the future, we ask readers to provide a link and duration for every upload. It helps us to catch mishaps, which happen to everyone. :)

Hi Thalzuhd,

Welcome to LibriVox! :) This page is a good resource to you get started:

https://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Newbie_Guide_to_Recording

I would particularly recommend doing the 1-minute test mentioned there. It will allow us to check that your software and hardware is setup in accordance with LibriVox technical standards, so that you get a chance to make adjustments without having to redo a longer recording.

Let me know if you have any questions.
