Hello, I’d like to know if these works below are public domain.
“Das Gemeine” and”Human Lost” both by Osamu Dazai.
These are published in 1935 and 1937.
Auther died in 1948.

hi great that you want to do a section for this project. But sorry, those two texts are not PD for us yet. The text needs to be published before 1923. And the author usually has to be dead for 70 years, although that may be different for you in Japan. Then you need to check the laws of your country to be sure. But published before 1923 is a must.stayupallnight wrote: ↑July 17th, 2018, 11:06 am Hello, I’d like to know if these works below are public domain.

That’s unfortunate but thank you!
Although, honestly, I really don’t like most Japanese classic literature...
Really they means nothing for ME.
So sad Dazai is not PD yet. Because he is one of very few of my favorite.
Maybe I’ll try them on Japanese server someday.
But this time, I’ll do my Nietzsche’s translation directly.
Thanks for advice!

I will also contribute another Luxembourgish poem for this collection. It's again by our famous writer Michel Lentz. The poem is praise for the nature in our small country. Interestingly enough, the author translated it himself into French and I also recorded the poem for the current French poetry collection. viewtopic.php?f=60&t=67601

Here's a poem from the early days of the Esperanto movement, about animals eating smaller animals, and becoming increasingly silly hybrids as a result.

wonderfully funny ! This was my first ever listen to Esperanto. I don't know the language at all, but it's easy to follow along with the text and after a few sentences I understood the gist of the pronunciation rules. You also make it very lively with your emphasized expressive narration. Very well done.Babilfrenzo wrote: ↑July 26th, 2018, 9:42 pmHere's a poem from the early days of the Esperanto movement, about animals eating smaller animals, and becoming increasingly silly hybrids as a result.
I can mark it PL ok assuming your intro and outro is correct, I cannot check that, since I don't know the language.
Just one word of caution. You have a lot of clipping in your audio. That occurs when words are peaked too high, meaning you sometimes speak to loud for just part of the word, often at the beginning of a word. If clipping is too extensive you may risk distorting the audio, so be careful there. Try to keep your voice a bit more level, even with expressive reading. With some practice you'll get the hang of it. Are you using Audacity ? You can check the wavelines while you record and as soon as you see a big red line appear, that means there is clipping. I usually then repeat the sentence with a less loud voice and cut out the clipped sentence.
To see the clipping in audacity, you need to go to "View" in the upper menu and tick "Show Clipping".
Thanks ! I'll update the MW with this great addition.
