Yes, I am still here but I probably cannot produce anything for the next month.

I'll Move it out for you and see if I can find the files - Tricia has limited access at the moment.

PL Notes
:01 text: Ĉapitro heard: Ĉapitoro
:25 Gives author's name both after initial title and at end of intro
:26 omits chapter title, Homarano

There are large sections of set-off quotes. It would be nice to have "quote...end quote" for quotes at 1:09, 5:31, 6:29, and 17:29

3:54 text: Odeso heard: Odjeso
4:44 text: Hebreoj heard Hebre
7:27 pronunciation - correct, reliGIo heard: reLIgio
12:44 text: Polaj heard: Poloj
14:08 text: homarana heard: homarano
19:14 text: preĝejoj heard: preĝe
19:59 text: Ĉapitro heard: Ĉapitoro

**
TriciaG, I PLed this like I would any piece. I know it would be problematic to get corrections. Nothing above would impede understanding, though it might be slightly distracting for a listening Esperantist. I listened to a couple of the other intros, and he always says ĉapitoro instead of ĉapitro, which is weird since his pronunciation is typically correct, but it was PL OK'd previously.

I'll not PL 8 or 9 until I hear from you. I know you're out of pocket. No hurry, as I have plenty else to do.
Cheers, VERLA

I guess the question is, if these aren't fixed, is/are the section(s) okay enough to be cataloged.

If not, they'd have to be ditched and redone.

I don't know Esperanto enough to know if these deviations are severe enough for that; you'd be the judge.

If you're ok with leaving it up to me, I'd say we should PL OK. It's totally understandable even with errors. There is a lot of tolerance in Esperantujo (Esperantoland) for, um...varied pronunciations. I have a Puerto Rican accent in Spanish, so my Esperanto does to some extent as well. I don't know where this recorder is from, but he sounds a little Eastern European to me. There are only a handful of native speakers in the world, so it's a foreign language to virtually everyone. Most speakers are still in some learning stage. (I started learning around 4 years ago or so.)

I know this recorder knows the language. He stops at the right place in sentences to indicate phrasing, and he showed knowledge in, for example, knowing to say "kaj tiel plu" for the abbreviation "k.t.p." "Ko to po" (the letters) is acceptable, but using the words is a little more sophisticated.

Anyway, yeah, I'd say ok. I'll listen to the other two and pray they're ok to this extent, otherwise you know who wil probably be rerecording them...

In any case, Zamenhof is practically a god among many Esperantists, and I'd think there would be some demand for this if we could get it up.

I would have been more than happy if someone had stepped up and asked for sections! But thanks, and welcome home from wherever you took your rental car.

Hi Tricia -

I started on this, and I need to confess that I overreached when I decided to do it. My reading comprehension and listening ability are a lot stronger in Esperanto than my speaking skills. I can do the PL on 8 & 9 so that those are finished if needed for the future, but I need to bow out of recording the others. My skills just aren't strong enough. It was one thing to do a poem for Multilingual Short Works and I'll likely do that again, but this is beyond my ability to do a good job.

I'll put a note in the forum when I finish the PL.

Thanks,
Verla
