Monika,
Uploaded sec. 71 “Voi che intendendo il terzo ciel movete”:
https://librivox.org/uploads/rapunzelina/rime_071_alighieri_128kb.mp3
time: 3:56 minutes

Almost incredible! If you read the poetry with attention it seems that a new love has replaced Beatrice’s love in Dante’s soul!
Since Dante is not always so easy to understand I hope you and others librivox members will appreciate to find an English translation of this poem here: https://www.poetryintranslation.com/PITBR/Italian/ConvivioII.php

I have uploaded sec. 72 “Amor che nella mente mi ragiona”
https://librivox.org/uploads/rapunzelina/rime_072_alighieri_128kb.mp3 (5:51 minutes)
Once more you can find an English translation of this poetry here:
http://classicalpoets.org/translation-of-dante-canzoni-amor-che-ne-la-mente-mi-ragiona/
But be careful: the translation is certainly useful to better understand the general meaning of the text. But concerning a “poetry” the translation is certainly not a literary one.

Here Dante speaks of his new love for the “donna gentile”, as she is called by many Dante’s experts. She is probably the same woman of the previous poem (Voi ch’intendendo…), but here she is somehow transfigured, made almost an angelic creature. She is no more only a bodily woman, but something more aerial. Someone thinks she is representing “Philosophy”, the only possible consolation of Dante’s sorrow for the loss of Beatrice.

Dear Monika,
I will be in holiday up to the end of July, away from my computer and microphone. So, I will take a little “vacation” from recording as well.
I will be back ready to record again at the end of July.
Cheers,
Pier

Finally I found the time to listen at least to some of the poems  :D

All read wonderfully, it's really like a little vacation in italy (especially together with the temperatures we have at the moment  ) :9: :9:

71
Voi, che, intendendo il terzo ciel movete
only one tiny glitch: the o of pubblico is cut of in the last disclaimer

72 Amor che nella mente mi ragiona
3:35 p. 164 I hear "Dico degli occhi", written "Dico negli occhi" - if you'd like to change that please tell me :) I mark it as ok as (if I have it right in mind  ) it shouldn't change the sense?

79 Quando il consiglio degli augei si tenne PL OK

80 Un dì si venne a me melanconia PL OK

81 Messer Brunetto questa pulzelletta PL OK

At 79 to 83 I am not sure if we need the Libro Quinto before every single poem; I like it though and would just leave it as is. Mary?

In case you do change it, please tell me, jospe, so that I can spot check. Thank you :)

Edit: I managed to listen to the other ones, too

82 Checker says it is a bit low in volume but I doesn't stick out in any way, so I think it is ok. So, 82 and 83 are PL OK, too  On those two files there are some noises in the background and volume is sometimes a bit lower, as if you were moving. It is ok though, I understood everything very well, only for future recordings I'd prefer the quality of the first ones :) Oh, and there is the "kb" missing in the filename - Mary, should they be uploaded again with the right filename? I don't know if it can be changed easily?

92 PL OK, too :9:

So I should be up to date now; if there is anything missing, please tell me! Thank you :)

Dear Monika,
I am back from holiday quite well (even with a small problem of an injured vertebra, due to a stupid fall! ).

I have uploaded now the correct version of sec. 71 (with the o of pubblico).

Concerning sec. 72 you  are right: The correct text is “Dico negli occhi” and not “negli occhi”.

It makes sense even better because the two previous lines say: “Things appear in her aspect that show the pleasure of paradise” and then the poet says “Dico (I mean) inside her eyes and in her sweet laugh”

Shall I upload the correct version now?

Pier
