Thank you :)

I enjoyed listening to all poems again :9:

Now, sezioni 109, Due donne in cima de la mente mia, 97 Savete giudicar vostra ragione, 96 Savere e cortesia ingegno e arte e 95 Non conoscendo amico vostro nome marcavo PL OK

In section 95 I heard two words differently but it is not that obvious and for my feeling doesn't change the sense too much, so I leave it to your decision if you want to change them, Algy:
0:19 I hear "donde che move", written is "donde che mova"
0:24 I hear "scienze", written is "scienza"

In section 96 Savere e cortesia ingegno e arte I also hear one word differently but think it could also stay?
0:22 I hear "Fortezze", written is "fortezza".

I'll be on vacation next week and don't know if I have internet access, so please be patient and hold the line ;)

Thank you

You are so lucky vacationing in Europe. If I travelled 800 miles from my home city (Perth, Western Australia) I would still be less than halfway to the next major city.

Cheers

I uploaded sec. 094 “ Qual che voi siate, amico, vostro manto”
https://librivox.org/uploads/rapunzelina/rime_094_alighieri_128kb.mp3
(1:94 minutes)

Certainly, this poem includes some words in old Italian quite difficult to understand :hmm: :

D’ira mi coco: of anger I bake me

Ver voi ho men d’un moco: for you I do not give a damn (moco is a vegetable of low value, as a cabbage)

Non voco : I don’t go

94 Qual che voi siate, amico, vostro manto and
98 Madonna, quel signor, che voi portate PL OK

I am almost missing the donne in 94 ;) Do I understand that right that some thing he didn't know really, really bothered him?

As none of the former readers answered a PM, I orphaned some claimed sections, so we have some gaps in the lower numbers ;)

Happy claiming!

As you know, I am always happy :D to read any of Dante’s poems. So, assign me the gaps you like.

In fact, this poem is not so easy to understand :hmm: . I made some research at it seems that it is an answer of Dante Alighieri to a poem of another poet: Dante da Maiano.
Dante da Maiano addressed a poem to Alighieri :
(see: https://it.wikisource.org/wiki/Rime_(Dante)/XLI_-_Per_pruova_di_saper_com_vale_o_quanto )
asking him “which would be according to Alighieri, the worst love pain”

And sec. 94 is Dante Alghieri’s answer: it starts with praises to da Maiano and it ends saying in the last two lines that the worst love pain is to love and not to be loved.

It is quite a “game” of question and answer between two poets, quite usual at the time. To me it sounds somehow “artificial” anyway.
