I am about to start recording Joseph Conrad: A Personal Remembrance by Ford Madox Ford.

https://www.fadedpage.com/showbook.php?pid=20130333

There is an appendix to this book in French from the Journal Littéraire, about 4 pages long or so. That is beyond the capability of my high school French. I am seeking someone who would be comfortable in reading that, which we would include in this recording (with appropriate acknowledgment, of course). Anyone out there willing to take pity on this poor embarrassed monoglot, who would be enormously grateful. :D
Peace, David

Hi David,

My name is Viviane, I am a beginner here, my test has just been accepted, but I am very keen on starting on a small project.
Have you found the help you needed for the appendix? It seems that it is still missing in the general recording? Would you be interested in me having a go? If it does not meet your standards no problem of course, I am just starting. I would take any advice from someone as experimented as you and I would not mind if you reject my recording.

Please let me know !

And sorry for the mistakes in English...

Viviane

Hi Viviane, Welcome to librivox !!! You will find your work here very rewarding. I very much appreciate your offer to help with the French appendix to this book. However, the book is finished, catalogued, and set up in internetarchive. Though not an administrator at librivox, my impression is that it is quite difficult to change anything in a book once it is on internetarchive. So, let me take a pass on your kind offer; we will let the book just stand on its own as is. Thanks so much. And I envy you just beginning at librivox; you're going to find a warm, accepting community that values your contributions. It's a great place to spend time and energy ! Again, welcome.
Peace, David

Hi David,

Thank you for your warm welcome!
The first few messages with the community are very nice indeed so I am happy to be part of it.
You are very welcome for the appendix, as you said the book has its own life now.

I hope we will have another opportunity to collaborate on a multilingual project in the future!

See you around then!

Viviane
