Hi,

Iam interested in doing a solo reading of Bharathiyar's gnanaratham in Tamil language.
Link : " https://archive.org/details/selva_20140703"

This is a beautiful prose written by him around 1910 and published in "India" magazine weekly . Though the book link I have mentioned is just a compilation of the prose, the original content was published before 1920s and it has been more than 75 years since the writer's death( died in 1921).

Please let me know the possibilities.

Regards,
Niranjana

Hello Niranjana,

It'd be great with a tamil recording! The text source you link to is probelmatic, because it doesn't seem to say when it was published. Even if the original was published in around 1910, it is possible that the compilation has changed things later than 1923. Does it say anywhere in the text you are linking when it was published?

If you were able to get your hands on a physical text (for instance from a library) you could scan the page with the publication information to verify that it is clearly public domain, and read from that. Do you think that would be possible?

Thank you for wanting to work on this :)
