Easy French books.

I've been studying French for a few years and it's been a very slow road. I can speak it convincingly enough, but my vocabulary is still so small.

I'm wondering if there are any simple books on Librivox that might help someone looking to better his/her French? I'm not talking about method or "lesson" books, but simple things like folk tales, children's books, or rhymes that might help one develop the ability follow French conversation better by immersion.

Thank you in advance for any help.

Aah, French, the wonderful...

A very quick browse through the catalog gave me this:

Kids:
https://librivox.org/contes-du-magasin-des-enfants-by-jeanne-marie-leprince-de-beaumont-1002/
https://librivox.org/fables-de-florian-by-jean-pierre-claris-de-florian-1201/
https://librivox.org/author/746 (Fables de la Fontaine, a lot of books)
https://librivox.org/heidi-by-johanna-spyri-201101-cs/
https://librivox.org/la-belle-et-la-bete-by-gabrielle-suzanne-barbot-gallon-de-villeneuve-1004/
https://librivox.org/histoire-dun-casse-noisette-by-dumas-alexandre/ A surprisingly short one by Dumas
https://librivox.org/group/326 (I etait une fois - contes pour enfants)

More adult stuff:
https://librivox.org/group/562 (Les mille et une nuits, three books)
https://librivox.org/carmen-et-la-venus-dille-by-merimee-prosper/
And plenty of Jules Verne of course

A play which seemed to me to be rather easy on the vocabulary:
https://librivox.org/confidences-dun-joueur-de-clarinette-by-emile-erckmann/

That should keep you busy until at least the end of the year
Have fun! :D
