My neighbour is Italian. She is very ill and in the hospital. I want to give her some audio books but I'm a bit at a loss what to give her, because I'm not so much into Italian literature.
I don't know what genre she likes, normally she doesn't read. Something easy and entertaining would be best, romances, detective stories, adventures. Something to take her mind away from her condition. So far I picked some of the Novelle per un anno, La Contessa di Karolystria by Antonio GHISLANZONI and Le meraviglie del Duemila by Emilio SALGARI.

Could you tell me some more Italian LV recordings along those lines, please?

By the way: Salgari's Sandokan novels are quite famous, at least in Germany because of the TV show ages ago. Would be great to have them in the catalog.

I am so sorry, Hokuspokus... I didn’t notice your post. I agree with you that audiobooks are very helpful during illness. Here are my suggestions, if still necessary:

CUORE : https://librivox.org/cuore-by-edmondo-de-amicis/
GALATEA: https://librivox.org/galatea-by-anton-giulio-barrili/
LA LOCANDIERA: https://librivox.org/la-locandiera-by-carlo-goldoni/

Then you can choose "Favole" (Fairy Tales), "Le avventure di Pinocchio", "Il giornalino di Giamburrasca": these are very popular children tales, but always appreciated by adult readers as well.

A big hug to your friend.

Thank you, Paola!

My neighbour is well again and can pick her own audio books from the catalog now. I will pass your recommendation to her.
