This book is a classic. I am willing to read it to the world. I am Portuguese (European) native speaker. Can I do it? Is this a "free" book?
Thank you.
[PORTUGUESE] OS MAIAS de Eça de Queiroz
Hello, CBensassy
Yes, certainly "Os Maias" is in the Public Domain - it was published in 1888, and the author died in 1900. It can be read for Librivox. It's a fairly long book, though. I don't say that to discourage you, but just to mean it's going to be quite a time commitment.
I suggest you start by reading the Newbie Guide to Recording (which we have in Portuguese also at http://wiki.librivox.org/index.php/Portuguese_Newbie_Guide ).
Happy reading!
